Wouldn’t he have to agree to that and a new contract?

I guess I’m asking, how does this stop from leaving if he wanted to?  Wouldn’t he have to accept the new role/position/salary before he’s off the table?

Who's to say they didn't have an agreement in place when he was hired originally. Seems like they wouldn't fire O'Shea without having some sort of reassurance from him or someone else. Maybe they had a 2-3 year plan for him to take over the OC role and were forced into it early because of the threat of him leaving with McDaniels.

And I mean, what would be the incentive for him to leave for Cleveland (or any other team for that matter) for the same position he'd be offered by the organization he's already a part of?

All very true.

A better opportunity.

Not all OC jobs are the same.

I mean, who would want to live and work in Miami when the beautiful waterfront downtown of Cleveland can be your playground?

You think he'd have a bigger role running an offence with McDaniels, an OC by trade, than he would with Flores, who mostly has defensive background? I don't really see it.

Either way, I'm not sure if that is the actual play or not. There's been talks of Joe Brady, Steve Sarkisian and potentially Jim Caldwell as well.

No idea, it was more a general question than anything.

Good options.
