Well I can give Snyder a pass on the Happy Thanksgiving lol

coach Ron  Burgundy was impressive with his words and demeanor.

anybody else wonder why our media sucks so bad? Could you ever imagine Tony K, Feinstein, Shapiro, wilbon, etc... asking ZERO questions to Snyder? Those people in that room should either 1. Admit they are schills for the team, 2. Get some training in how to be a reporter not just a blogger, 3. Go bag groceries

No way Danny was taking questions. Rivera is the one and only voice now

That's kind of a problem since he needs to explain the timeline. Why fire Gruden in week 5 but wait until after the season to fire Allen? What are his plans for dealing with a half empty FedEx Field/regaining the fanbase's trust? Etc.

He also said there’s “Veterans that WILL PLAY”.
It’s enough to kick around if Alex Smith is the week 1 starter for sure

Let's see if Smith actually can physically play before we open that can of worms.

Those are exactly the type of questions hell never stand up to and answer, we all know that by now.  My best guess is he wasn’t set on firing Bruce until Rivera/Gibbs convinced him that a culture change was necessary. From what Rivera said him and Joe communicated a lot once he was fired. I’d bet dollars to donuts it got to the point where either Joe or Ron told Dan this won’t happen unless Bruce and the head trainer is gone. Rivera said repeatedly he wants a player centric building and there’s no better way to start getting the trust of the players than getting rid of those 2 guys

Seriously though, Rivera was a good hire. Step in the right direction for a franchise that hasn’t had one in a while.

You know, I did read it may have been an inside joke between He and Rivera cause Revera laughed right away .. who knows, just what I read.

A couple of things about this press conference bothered me.

#1 - It sounds like Dan really gave Rivera power over pretty much everything.  Coaches are motivated to do short term deals that are not necessarily good for the team in the long run (because they need to win now or get fired).  That's how you have teams making stupid moves like Bill Obrien did with the Texans this year.

#2 - He said he has no patience for a long rebuild, which essentially means he's going to do exactly what my #1 problem is.

Yeah we have been building for a while the right way. I really hope we don’t go back too the FA heavy trade heavy roster shaping. We have been drafting right and building the roster the best way. So I hope he says that seeing the talent we have as a good thing. But now I’m worried about Haskins

Dan's fingerprints are all over this.  As for point one, did you hear Rivera mention if we can't agree on something, we're going to the owner to decide it?  That doesn't sound like full authority to me, that sounds like someone plans to be involved.  The owner should be involved on big money moves just so they can speak into it, but other than that, the coach and GM should have the final say.

Dan wants to win, and that meshed with Rivera as well- he's 58 next week, and he's been an NFL lifer.  It doesn't sound like he is doing to have the patience to do things right here and continue to build and develop through the draft.

I already had concerns about his track record of success in Carolina (3 winning seasons in 9 years) and they did nothing to show me that I shouldn't have those concerns, as well as have more, if you read in between the lines........because that's what we have to do with Dan Snyder.

Still though.  I am ready for a great cultural to be built here.  Whatever that is.
