It sounds like Shaffer was said to be out, someone leaked it to Shaffer and Doc, Doc reported it BEFORE Shaffer could be canned. It's a bad look. There's a leak. His job with the Front Office is also complicated by being General Counsel, which are two jobs in one, so they may also be planning to split the roles and have him train two replacements in a sense. Also, with the rumor that a new GM is being named after the draft, it makes sense for the current group to finish up things and give a fresh evaluational period for whoever is making the decisions moving forward.
