As long as the Lions keep Quinn, who came from New England, they will keep Patricia. Martha Ford is by all accounts a very nice lady but she has no business running a NFL team.

As far as Gase, who is as competent as he is personally pleasant, I’m guessing Johnson didn’t want to pay another coach and that, and to not shake things up this early in Darnold’s career, are the reasons he’s holding onto Gase for another year.

Sans a playoff berth next year I think they’ll all be looking for new jobs. and rightfully so.

This is always a fun time of year. Now I don’t take delight in anyone losing their job, that sucks, and assistant coaches, scouts, FO personnel, etc., it’s a rough time for those guys and their families.

That being said, it’s fascinating to see the same teams grabbing the headlines this time of year on such a regular basis. The next HC in Cleveland will be the 13th in 20 years, the same amount of time BB has been in New England.

It’s also interesting to see why certain coaches go to certain places.

Why would Ron Rivera go to Washington? He’s the top candidate available and he goes to the worst (or second worst after Cleveland) job available. Dallas and NYG are much better options.

Rivera it seems like it comes down to where he wants to live.  He's been in Carolina for awhile.  You wonder if his kids stay in Carolina, in which case, DC is just a quick jaunt home.

True. And you have almost a blank slate since the Redskins have next to nothing talent wise, high draft picks and probably two 1sts once they get Trent Williams traded. Plus, after they fired Allen, he will either get final say or the ability to pick his GM.

Steelers, Cardinals, Broncos, Jaguars and Lions are the five that can be forced to do it. Steelers would have to be the favorite as a national brand. Kyler and Kliff will provide enough national intrigue to make the Cardinals a decent candidate too. I'd say we're more likely than the Jaguars or Lions though.

I think there's a lot about the Broncos that are very interesting to us. But remember, Hard Knocks is a borderline tabloid show that is all about hyping up drama and I don't see a lot of material for that with us here.

Can someone explain to me why Matt Ruhle is such a sought after commodity? Baylor did not equate itself well in the Sugar Bowl last night and the Big 12 is a joke as far as P5 conferences go IMO.

Anyone? Buhler?

Here's what I know about him: he made quick turnarounds at two programs that were in shambles (I would argue Baylor should have been hit with the death penalty but oh well). 1-11 to 7-6 to 11-3 within a span of three years at Baylor. He's well respected at both levels as an offensive line coach, but the main appeal seems to be his ability to build a culture of toughness and physicality, kinda like Jim Harbaugh but without the crazy Harbaugh-ness. He doesn't seem to be rooted in any particular philosophy, more just a CEO type.

Baylor had a 11L team 2 years ago, and no sought-after players would go there.  To go there, meant either it was hidden gems in the rough, or just well-coached players who executed.   And this is the 2nd time he's revived a dying program.  That's tough to believe it's a coincidence.

Rhule deserves a TON of credit for turning around that program.  It's like a Phoenix rising from the ashes.   Whether he can turn around a NFL franchise though, is still unclear.

At least we can have TWO HC's who wear full hoodies on the sidelines each Sunday lol.

So he’s an “I’ll take mine and beat yours and then I’ll take yours and best mine” kind of coach.

Thats legit. I hope he doesn’t end up in Cleveland, he deserves better.

I hope Mac goes to Cleveland and ruins what’s left of his career 😂 it’s like waiting for the day your actress ex-gf is finally spit out of the bottom of the porn industry.

Obviously viewing through a different lens, but I'm just not impressed with the guys getting interviewed. I actually know the Bieniemy family from his time at UCLA and he's a pretty remarkable human being, but I never envisioned him as a head coach. Rooting for him though. McCarthy for all the criticisms he probably earned late in his tenure, is really the perfect fit for Cleveland culturally IMO. A decade and a half as the head coach of a winning program is nothing to sneeze at. I like Rhule but it is interesting how on board the NFL seems to be with him. The other guys I'm hearing about, particularly McDaniels and Saleh (who I think is being 100% elevated by talent)? Nope. Nope. Nope.
