This dude's fingers are gonna be everywhere in Marvel/Star Wars. He also wrote Multiverse of Madness. He created, wrote, and is executive producing Loki. He is one of Dan Harmon's guys working on Harmonquest, Community, and Rick Morty. He wrote The Old Man and the seat episode of rick and morty. A LOT of faith being put on him given most of his work isnt even out yet.

Well I know which side of this one I'm on.

Favreau and Filoni.

1000000000%.

Kathleen Kennedy has produced crap.  I tried defending that trilogy for as long as I possibly could.  I still love the decision to give Luke a major depression state like in TLJ, and I loved a lot of things TLJ did, but ultimately it was crap.  Ruined by that casino crap, Leia's force pull, purple hair's being there for the sake of it and completely neglecting Akbar just for the sake of throwing Laura Dern into it for no got damn reason.

Favreau and Filoni need to be given 100% creative control of EVERYTHING Star Wars.

They need to use canon (from Clone Wars) to show that the events of the sequel trilogy was an alternate timeline.

They need to bring Luke Skywalker into The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian needs to lead to a new sequel trilogy where Favrea and Filoni have COMPLETE AND TOTAL CREATIVE CONTROL OVER THE SCRIPT.

Sebastian Stan needs to play Luke Skywalker in a couple seasons of The Mandalorian to set up the necessary backstory, and then Mark Hamill needs to come back for the movies.

Mark-Hamil-Sends-Sebastian-Stan-Birthday

Since Harrison Ford likely won't come back, and since Carrie Fisher can't come back... Eh, that's a ****ing tough one that I don't know how to deal with.

Some comforting quotes from that article:

Quote

However, it appears that Disney executives are behind Favreau’s vision as they have put money behind The Mandalorian and its spinoff shows. WDW Pro claims, “My sources say that [Bob Iger’s] fully behind Jon Favreau.”

He concludes his scoop stating, “Keeping Luke Skywalker a secret from almost everyone at Lucasfilm has sent a message loud and clear. Favreau is in charge of The Mandalorian and every spin-off series and film that comes from it.”

“And Favreau is in charge of the only Star Wars fans seem to care about. There are no consultations with Lucasfilm needed in the future – he and Filoni are in the driver’s seat,” he added.

Give Favreau and Filoni the sequel trilogy!

DO IT!

You remake or reboot great movies all the ****ing time, so how about you remake some **** ones?

Rise of Skywalker was completely beyond redemption.

And so was 2/3 of TLJ.

Which renders all of the sequel trilogy useless in spite of a lot of promise from TFA.

All of the groundwork is there in canon from Clone Wars and Rebels.

Your MCU already has multiple timelines.

If there are big issues, it’s obvious which way they should go but that story was garbage and clearly biased.

The comic guy has every reason to be upset if he’s been told something (and because of that adjusted the comic book) and then it turns out that he was lied to. The Mandalorian is carrying the franchise right now, though, so I can see why FF did what they had to do. Stupid to think that Kennedy didn’t know Luke was going to show up, though.

I kind of hope she didn't.  Loose lips sink ships.  Think of how much buzz The Mandalorian would have lost if it was known that Baby Yoda was going to be there at the end of Ep 1, or if it was known Luke was showing up at the end of season 2?  The more people that know, the more likely it is that someone is going to tell someone they shouldn't.  Don't get me wrong, I respect the comics as a platform to expand the SWU, but it's several tiers below the exposure the shows or movies will get.
