jrry32
In past years, I bid contracts before FA. But I don't know that I'll have the time this year. Instead, if I want to sign somebody who switches teams, I'll have to agree to a contract that outbids the winning offer by at least 10% in terms of total value, APY, and guarantees. I will not be able to sign players that re-sign with their old team for more than $5 million per year. For $5 million per year or less, I have to offer a contract that outbids the old team's contract by at least 50% in total value and APY. I'll try to come up with a list of players I am interested in before the pre-FA period opens this week.

winitall
If you had picked David Johnson in your expansion draft you could have Hopkins right now.

jrry32
Well, I have a bit of a conundrum. I'm potentially interested in trading down with the Dolphins (who are rumored to be willing to offer a lot to trade up for Burrow), but the Bengals aren't. I hate to have to make a guess on what a team like Miami would offer.
jrry32
No reason to drag this out. With the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Stallions select . . . Joe Burrow QB Louisiana State University He's clearly the best QB in the class. I was willing to consider a trade down if Miami offered the moon for him, but I don't know what they're offering. Easy pick. His accuracy, field vision, football IQ, pocket presence, anticipation, timing, and decision making are all stellar. He's mobile and knows when to use it to pick up chunks of yardage. While his arm strength is nothing special, it's more than enough for him to succeed. Now, I need to get him some help.

jrry32
With the 33rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Stallions select . . . Tee Higgins WR Clemson* * - I will be trading down if there's a suitable offer for pick #33 or one of the surrounding picks. EDIT: Welp, no trade down.
