Passing rating for Moore is high but i think that also something where he gets "credited" with plays where it isn't his resposibility. Take that game away, and his coverage stats were GREAT. The rating numbers are going to look bad if you aren't targeted much but allow a TD or two while not coming away with any INTs. Forge
It also depends on where he's pulling these stats from. Places like PFF are pretty bad about recognizing coverages and who's to blame for certain outcomes sometimes. Jimmie Ward is really freaking good. So glad that we finally got to see him healthy and blossom...we waited so long lol

But the rating thing is way more reliable with corner over safeties in general. 1 minute ago, Forge said: It also depends on where he's pulling these stats from. Still always scared he might get injured but he is a great player. Kinda the same for Tartt altough he has been even more injury prone the past few years but when on the field he is great. Biggest thing for both is health and they don't really create any turnovers.

So glad that we finally got to see him healthy and blossom...we waited so long lol I wouldn't say they are pretty bad just that it's difficult to know exactly what coverage a defense was supposed to run and what all the responsibilities of the defenders are for a certain play. It's pretty much impossible to track accurately unless you have the DC with you on every play telling you what should have happened or who is responsible for the catch. Ward is awesome for sure. Our safety play with him and Moore was rock solid minus the Bills game. Having good coverage backers and safeties does wonders for a defense. Need to make sure that Harris is never playing safety ever again. Put him in the box and in the joker role all you want, but keep him away from the safety spots. He is a great run stopper on the edge that is at his best as a pass rusher when moved inside to get a more speedy type on the outside. Which is also where the staff wants him to play in an ideal world if you see what moves they have made over the season and especially later on Armstead basically rushed inside and played base downs on the edge.
J-ALL-DAY
I mean the 49ers still do need another edge rusher opposite of Bosa. But Armstead is underrated by the fan base due to not having big sack numbers. The 10 he got in 2019 was an anomaly but what folks fail to realize is how many more interior rushes he got in 2019 compared to 2020. Hopefully it changes next year with Bosa returning and possibly Ford or whoever we draft/sign opposite of Bosa.
NcFinest9erFan
I guess in the end, AA turned out to be what we thought Solly would be. The Michael Bennett in this def?

There's nothing wrong with AA as your DE in base but in any nickel package, he should see most of his snaps inside. He was the strong-side DE fat too often in our nickel this year....not his fault of course. His interior push is more valuable to our Wide 9. Especially with a healthy Bosa on the weakside. He's really the only consistent 3T we have on the roster. Guys like Givens are still developing and Kinlaw will never be a big pass-rushing threat as a DT. Yep, he was still the base down DE in 2019 but got majority of his pass rush snaps from the interior. That changed in 2020 due to what we were dealing with.
