Someone had to fall on the sword. Not too sure it was the playcalling though.

Not entirely but he was definitely at fault.  Offense has kept regressing since Hue left.  Also, what I think did him in the most is not building game plans to highlight the talent on the team.  The biggest hope going forward is that Mixon gets more snaps and Green gets more targets...

Yeah no TDs in two games in an offense with that many weapons is totally unacceptable

Weapons dont really matter when you have a middling QB behind a decimated Offensive Line.

Speaking of those Weapons, why do they still have all 3 of those RBs on the roster? Thats a terrible job by the GM

The GM (Duke Tobin) in this case, I believe has done a fantastic job over the past few seasons.  The RB situation isn't the best but let's be real, no one is trading anything for Jeremy Hill.  It's up to the coaches to just sit him and play Mixon/Gio.  Also, our now fired OC has been using them in some of the stupidest way possible.  Gio for pass blocking and running up the middle in the red zone, isn't exactly his strong suit...

Yea, their offensive line is a big issue, Dalton has not been sharp at all under pressure, and the quality of defenses they've played have all been factors.

But having watched both of their games, they really seem to have no clue what to do with their skill players. Their rotations at RB make no sense and they aren't doing enough to get the ball to their talented WRs quickly and letting them make a play.

This team is a dumpster fire in the making. Zampese is just the beginning. Marvin Lewis must have some seriously incriminating photographs in his possession because I can't think of any other reason he would still be employed as head coach of the Bengals. As LLcheesehead12 said last year on the old forum:

"Mike Brown should get thrown in an insane asylum if he doesn't fire Lewis at the end of this season, and the NFL should seize the Bengals from him and sell them to the highest bidder.

Honestly, no coach would be allowed to keep his job after losing control of the locker room and allowing troubled players like Burfict and Pacman to run the team like this. Caldwell at least saw the writing on the wall and shipped Ndamakung Suh out of Detroit for his troublesome ways. Lewis hasn't done any of that and for that alone the nail should be in his coffin.

I'd definitely sanction a property seizure by the NFL from Mike Brown for just being a bad owner and not firing the guy, would be an awesome thing to witness."

Week 2?  Ooof.

Dalton has never been anything better than decent, their OL is horrific (especially Ogbuehi, however it's spelled), and they miss Jones and Sanu.

That PR last night wasn't doing them any favors either fair catching everything.

The worst part of the whole situation is they're still going to beat the Browns.....

Zampese was a bad OC, but Dalton and the OL are the big issue so far this year

This is true.  The regression of Dalton and the offensive line are #2 and #1 in terms of our offensive issues.  The OC didn't help things though.  The RB rotation was just god awful as well.  If nothing else comes from this switch other than abandoning Jeremy Hill starting games and then mixing drives with Mixon/Gio as it goes, that will at least be something positive. It's annoying to see the offense do well with Mixon, and then he gets pulled and sits on the sidelines for 3-4 series after that...
