Is Drew Brees overrated?

It's a tough crowd today if we're saying Drew Brees is overrated/not a top 10 QB. He checks pretty much every single box to get into the "All Time" conversations:

- Has all of the needed stats. (Over everyone, literally).

- Several years of league leading production.

- Won a SB.

- Is the "Icon" of his franchise (when you think of the Saints historically, what other player comes to mind? Archie Manning, perhaps?)

- Turned his franchise around (Does anyone here remember the "Aints" days when fans would wear paper bags over their heads? That's a thing, but not since Drew's been there).

Under no circumstances should anyone argue otherwise. Drew might not be too 3-5 all time, but he's certainly top 10.

So much ability the Chargers moved on from him and drafted Rivers?

Pretty much the minute Rivers joined the Chargers, Brees turned into a great QB. So great the Chargers franchise tagged him while Rivers collected dust on the bench for two seasons.

Horrible take right here.

People expect QBs to literally be perfect or else they're trash. Some of you guys are forgetting that Joe Montana had three straight one and done playoff games at one point.

He’s also forgetting that Brees had just suffered a shoulder injury that most teams considered career ending

But hey, he saw in Wikipedia that the chargers moved on from Brees, so who needs context?

Because any move that Chargers regime made was automatically the right move to make? Thanks for reminding us that was indisputably the greatest front office of all time.

A lot of us forget that undeniable fact.

Top 10 in Completion percentage, yards, QB rating, top 5 in TDs in 05... and that's nothing special?

Um... If you say so. :|

Who had the better careee? Brees or Rivers?

You guys dont remebee brees had a horrible shoulder injury the chargers thought he wouldnt come back strong.

He also wasnt known for having a strong arm.

Career? Brees, obviously... But the question is how much of that had to do with Payton?

Brees had 3 mediocre years in San Diego, Then the Chargers drafted Rivers, then he had 1 GREAT year, then another nothing special year then he got hurt

5 years without Payton, 4 of them so/so then he had a major injury

Sean Payton elevates Drew Brees while Rodgers elevated Mccarthey led teams and offenses. The dynamic is much different.

I understand what you're trying to say.....but Sean Peyton doesn't play on the field. Brees still has to make the plays and more times than not, does.
