Our TE group is pretty subpar. the problem is, so is our WR group! Perhaps the Jones/Williams set makes a return. Somehow this team has to get jake kumerow and MVS off the field in most situations. I'd prefer Tonyan against these LBs to Kumerow or MVS vs Griffin.

When Seattle played Philly during the regular season, there were several series where Philly kept calling the same type of delayed screen play over and over again similar to what worked for us against Dallas. The problem for them is that their OL isn't as athletic as ours and at the time, Miles Sanders hadn't emerged as a reliable threat so they kept using Jordan Howard and other bigger backs that lacked the footwork to weave their way through traffic so Seattle's DL easily blew through their OL and stuffed the play each time it was called. Logic would make you wonder why Philly kept calling the same type of plays so I'm guessing they saw something. Ergo, I think we're going to see several variations of a jailbreak screen given our personnel, which will be very effective IMHO given the weaknesses they showed against SF. This is going to be a classic grind-it-out game and as long as we can run the ball effectively and control the clock, we've got this one in the bag.

I’ll add to the end there with no turning the ball over and limiting the deep shots to DK and Lockett
Reaper
Are we sure its a good idea to go pretty after a whole season of winning ugly?

That nearly killed us against Detroit in the final regular season game this year.
packfanfb
Assuming we activate Raven by Sunday, and given we're facing Russell, in 3rd and 6+ situations, do we see more defensive packages with Greene/Campbell as the ILBs or one of them versus Martinez on the field? No offense to Martinez, but he couldn't stop Wilson on a scramble even if Wilson told him pre-snap where he was running.

Pettine credited him for the defense doing better because of communication and he is the guy with the radio in his helmet. Honestly I don’t know who is the backup radio guy... Amos?
Leader
Ben Fennell - I think it's important for the #Packers this week to give Bobby Wagner & KJ Wright as much 'eye candy' as possible... Do NOT give them easy/basic reads because they'll make every tackle. I loved the gameplan from LaFleur vs Dallas LBs. Seemed every run had additional elements. That’s what a lot of people don’t get with Martinez. His value is more than his physical ability. It would be awesome to have a super fast playmaking ILB who can shed blocks and cover the fastest backs, but the number of those guys who can also call a defense and make the right reads and get everybody ready and do all the little stuff as well as Martinez can is like 4 in the NFL.

Unfortunately GB plays 2 of them this weekend. And the other 2 are playing Saturday afternoon as potential upcoming opponents. Blake obviously lacks the athleticism to spy on Wilson so it will be interesting to see how Pettine seeks to control RW's scrambling, play making ability.
