Completed my first mock draft on The Draft Network. How’d I do?

1. Joe Burrow - QB LSU

2. Kenneth Murray - LB OU

3. Matt Hennessy - IOL Temple

4. Isaiah Wilson - OT UGA

5. KJ Hill - WR OSU

6. Marlon Davidson - DL Auburn

7. Brian Cole - S Miss St

It's hard to say you have too many players at one spot, but the ultimate upside of KJ Hill is Tyler Boyd, who we already have, and really only 1 slot WR gets significant reps.  But as a 5th rd pick, there are worse things to get than good slot depth.

I honestly think Kenneth Murray could slip to 33, as the evaluation period gets deeper, people are seeing he isn't as strong in coverage as his athleticism suggests he could be. Kind of a catch 22 for the Bengals though, he'll only fall if he struggles in pass coverage, and the Bengals really need a pass coverage LB.

Yeah agreed, this is fine.  When you take a guy in the 4th round or later, you're not generally overly concerned about the guys you have in front of them.  You're just trying to find good players who can eventually contribute.  There are enough injuries on an NFL team that eventually everyone is going to get playing time.

Used Fanspeak today with Matt Miller's Bleacher Report Big Board.  Kenneth Murray and Patrick Queen went 28-29, so I went BPA at 33.  Tough call between Denzel Mims and Jonah Jackson in rd 4, but I went with the beef up front

1: R1P1
QB JOE BURROW
LSU
33: R2P1
S XAIVER MCKINNEY
ALABAMA
65: R3P1
EDGE JOSH UCHE
MICHIGAN
104: R4P1
G JONAH JACKSON
OHIO STATE
147: R5P1
LB DAVID WOODWARD
UTAH STATE
180: R6P1
OT JUSTIN HERRON
WAKE FOREST
215: R7P1
K TYLER BASS
GEORGIA SOUTHERN

Isn't Pratt intended to be our coverage LB? He was a safety for most of his career.

My 11 month old is sick, so I’m just sitting around making mocks. Did this one on The Draft  Network tried taking different players than last time, other than Burrow of course.

1. Joe Burrow - QB

2. Trevane Diggs - CB

3. Netane Muti - IOL

4. Jordan Elliott - IDL

5. Quartney Pearson - WR

6. Adam Trautman - TE

7. Carter Coughlin - DE

I can't see Trautman falling that far with the hype he has coming off the senior bowl, but that'd be a home run draft.  Trevon Diggs in rd 2 would be a real nice value and makes Dre expendable.

D, although I am not sure Uche is a guy I would have taken at that spot.

If we take one non-LB on defense, I think Uche is my favourite pick/position in that slot. Keep building on an already impressive pass rush, and make it our identity on defense. Also, the value there would be great. He can very easily go in the final third of the first.

D is my favorite. Any draft that we get Isaiah Wilson is going to be my favorite. Kids a beast at Run Blocking and I think he can be one of the best RTs in the NFL in the next couple years. Putting him at RT and Jonah at LT, hopefully we have our bookends for the next 10-12 years.

I'd have to see who was there.  Really didn't see too much of Michigan but he didn't stand out to me. But DE is always an option to me, along with corner and offensive line.  Maybe he'll be great.
