Tank for Trevor?

I think unless Stidham is balling by week 6, you seriously consider going for Lawrence. We have a tough schedule. So it should be pretty apparent fast what the playoff prospects are. If that’s unattainable then you say screw it

I don’t want to bring in someone like Andy dalton just to go 9-7 if everything breaks right. I’d rather go 3-13

Yeah BB is never going to tank. Hate to burst your bubble. They go 3-13 and Brady leads TB to a first round bye he could easily be fired.

Not a Pats fan but I don't see how Bellichick would get fired if he offloads older guys, opens up cap space, adds draft capital and then comes back with either Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields as his future QB for another HOF run.

Brady has maybe another 2 years and the team is in cap hell.

Trade Gilmore (3rd), Thuney (2nd or late 1st), Edelman (6th from TB), cut Sanu and you've got $30M of new cap space. Can rollover $20M or so into next year.

Not only would trading Gilmore result in more dead money than Brady, I’m willing to bet they could get more than a 3rd for last season’s DPOY.

Maybe. We've also seen the value of a top level 29 year old CB on a big money contract.

We'd riot if they trade Gilmore. He's the glue to the defense.

Let's say that Bill has a 2-3 year turnover plan for the next dynasty. Someone mentioned on a podcast that you guys have 30 players with salaries of $1M+, which is geared towards contending for a championship. What good is a now 31/32 year old CB with a $19M cap hit on a rebuilding roster?
