Myles can play any position. He would have zero issues playing OLB if that’s where he’s put. If other DEs can do it he can.

I will think highly of him when the D shows strength/success.

Plus who plays the nose?

I don’t disagree but he wasn’t given a ton to work with last year, especially considering the scheme he runs. We had one decent safety and he’s a bit of a head case, one LB worth a damn who isn’t a rookie most of the year, didn’t have our 2 starting CB’s for most of the first two months, were missing our best defender the last 6 games, etc.

Plus who plays the nose? You can have you hand in the dirt and still play a 3-4. Wade ran a lot of 4 man fronts too. Just find someone to play NT. It’s not rocket science. One position shouldn’t keep us from hiring a great DC.

He’s clearly best suited as a 4-3 end. Same with Vernon. With those two as our OLB’s we aren’t running a 3-4, we’re running a 5-2.

Wilkes, true to his scheme, put square-peg players into round holes.

I mean, humor me, what defense do you run that masks injured corners early, subpar S talent, subpar LB and a DL that was playing street FA’s by the end of the year? What scheme makes that look good in today’s nfl where offenses are given every advantage?
Mind Character
Scangarello is a fantastic QB coach. To hire him as QBC with OC upside in the event that Stefanski needs to just be HC would be nice. I don't know if the players believe in Wilks still. He laid a lot of eggs but had good games as well. Seems like the Haslams really didn't want to change much. It would be better to change now if there is to be change.

Is this a directive from Jimmy, or did Stefanski want to keep him?

What would BB do? Whatever that is, I would do. Probably define the talent I have to work with, breakdown the opponent's strengths/tendencies and match the talent I have against the opponent. No scheme. Making best use of available talent.

We had a bunch of goddam quitters last year and tbh IDGAF about their opinions. Play for the guy or find someone who will.
