No Cleveland, Canton, or Akron beat reported confirmed that reported sourcing or report. Wade Phillips then commented that "if the rumors are true the hires are great," but we don't know if that was based on his inside information or he himself reading the SiriusXM Alex Marvez reporting. It's a little odd that Mary Kay or any Browns beat reporters haven't confirmed the Pagac sourcing given all this time. Very well could mean an OLB vs LB coach designations, but it could very well also mean that Pagac's not actually coming here as Marvez suggested; or it may mean Browns beat reporters either aren't comfortable with the sourcing or don't have the sourcing Marvez has on the Fred Pagac hire. That or Marvez is just incorrect. We shall see. Since, as you point out, @Mind Character, that Alex Marvez was the only one to report this - and more shockingly, the local media showed restraint and didn't jump all over this..... I will consider this the equivalent of beating the dead horse. Only thing that backs up Alex's story is Fred's Wiki page. And how often have they been wrong? lol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Pagac Edited February 10, 2020 by brooks1957
brooks1957
Here's the original tweet "Source" ? - that could be the equivalent of a wino with no apparent connection to the team who stumbles out of a bar and mutters such a statement while being semi comatose on the ground........ Plus the fact that Bleacher Report had this story previously under the Cleveland Browns tab - and now it no longer exists.......... Time to throw the BS flag on this story and Alex Marvez.

For what it’s worth lane has said that he’s heard all along he’s suppose to be OLB coach. Nothing more.

Doesn't mean he isn't going to join the staff in some capacity. If he is joining the staff, it would likely be in a Senior Defensive Assistant role given his level of experience that would see him help all over the defense but specialize with LB assistance. Most have assumed that Tarver's hiring meant Pagac'll join as a OLB coach per their reading of Browns premium insider sites. As we're not running a 34, an OLB coach hurts the strength of Tarver's title. As Tarver's coming off a DC role, it makes more sense that it Pages joins that he'll have the SDA designation. Seems like we'll know what's what by week's end. Edited February 11, 2020 by Mind Character

candyman93
This may upset some people, but philosophically I want to copy what the Cowboys have done. They “raised” Dak perfectly. Gave him a strong run game and elite offensive line. They’ve tried to build a defense as well. That’s what I want for Baker.
brooks1957
Candy - if people get pissed about that line of thinking - they are absolutely nucking futs. Why would you NOT want the success Dallas has enjoyed?
