sdrawkcab321
I like the hire but seems strange to give such an inexperienced guy the title of sr assistant

Kiwibrown
Some interesting highlights from Dalvin Cook, bunch of zone runs that were not that well blocked to be honest, Dalvin helped the line out. He cheated a bit with his speed, able to beat edge defenders. We should be able to block it better than this. The passes he caught were great too, he ran onto them, seeing Chubb get some speed up before he catches the ball will be great. Doesn't always use zone runs, a lot of guard and tackle pulls, it could be a big year for Bitonio. A lot too like.

Its more so about making sure you 5 lineman get hands on to the 5 guys they deem as most dangerous for the concept. If its the 4DL+MLB, 4DL+SLB, or 3FSDL+ MLB&SLD. Other guys will be blocked by FB/TEs/or held with scheme actions. Basically the lineman need to beat the guy to the spot, engage with them, and control them. If you get too overly aggressive, you will get burned pretty bad on zone. Just gotta get in the away, create space, and allow the RB to do work. If you go back to say the '98 Broncos and see TD's highlights of his 2k season. That Denver OL isnt just mauling people, they are very technical, in the right spot. Also helped that they would destroy backside DL with chop blocks. Im not even excited about seeing Chubb being a passing threat, im leaving that for hunt. no one should ever be 100% zone concepts. If you were, opposing DCs could destroy you will aggressive DL stunts. When a DL does start to get a little aggressive (penetrating DL can destroy and blow zone concepts) you start to run power, trap, and trey counters schemes. Those schemes would expose DL who get way to far up field. So a nice mixture of zone schemes with those man schemes can really help keep a DL at bay. Its why Callahan as a OL coach was such an awesome hire. He has so much successful experience and knowledge in those concepts Edited April 19, 2020 by buno67
