Chiefs figures out how to stop Henry, which nobody has done in weeks, and outplayed the Titans for sure... but how was not a single hold called on their OL all game. I can only recall 1 egregious no call, but w/ how they were completely stonewalling Tennessee in pass pro, especially Casey, I can’t imagine they weren’t getting away w/ a lot unless they turned into elite unit overnight. Will be interesting to see how this plays out in the SB, as they’ll see a much fiercer pass rush either way.

They played great against Houston too

ever since they benched Wylie they’ve elevated their game honestly

but I’m sure you could call a hold on every play

“Pass protection by DVOA.” You say that like you think DVOA=FO, and is not a metric. At least understand whatever number you’re referencing.. Man, sometimes you just have to chuckle at some of the posts on this site.

You’re looking at adjusted sack rate (sacks + intentional grounding). While sack rate is a good indicator, it certainly can be skewed by mobile QBs or smart QBs that get the ball out quick, no?

I’m not saying the Chiefs don’t have a good line, but certainly have never thought of them as elite. The Ravens OL, which dominated throughout 2019, had trouble w/ this Titans front.

Pass Blocking they are pretty elite,  it also helps they play into Mahomes ability to maneuver in the pocket.   He factors into them not holding a ton.

Run Blocking it’s definitely not.

Tenn rushed 3 almost all game. And their DL isn't anything crazy good. It would've been more surprising if they weren't stonewalled rushing 3.

Supposedly. But they never called that, they called holding. Not a good look either way, at least explain if you pick up the flag.

Oh I didn't realize they didn't call the illegal formation. Whoops. Yeah, that's not good. Poor officiating in the game all around

Non-Defensive PPG in playoffs per QB for Andy Reid:  (games)  [TDs to Interceptions]

  • McNabb(16) ---- 20.1  [24 to 17]
  • Garcia (2) --------- 23.5 [2 to 0]
  • Vick (1)   ---------  16.0  [1 to 1]
  • Smith (5)  --------- 26.2 [9 to 2]
  • Mahomes (4) ----- 37.0 [11 to 0]

Reid's Playoff QBs have 23 TDs to 3 picks in 12 games when they are not named Donovan McNabb.

McNabb played with Reid far longer than any of those others.

McNabb had a gunslinger mentality....compared to someone like Alex Smith, who was overly safe with the football.

Smith and Mahomes skew that stat.   Smith was TOO protective of the ball, and Mahomes is just a rare talent.

But yes, Reid is an amazing offensive mind.

They didn't call Illegal Formation because they picked up that flag after the play was over.

I would agree that the officiating was pretty bad for a playoff game.  They completely missed 12 men at one point.  Luckily, this one isn't one of the any recent playoff games where you can argue that the bad officiating changed the outcome.  The Chiefs were pretty clearly the better team.
