RpMc
Patterson showed up four years after Griffen was drafted, so he can't be given all the credit for that one, but he's certainly one of the best teachers of defensive lineman in the game.

I thought Griffen didn't show much until Patterson became DL coach?
perrynoid
iirc, Griffen was a part-time player who's technique and play measurably improved when Patterson took over.

Well he was a rotational pass rusher, who we yelled for a couple years to be starting behind Allen and Robison. Also basically was playing a fair amount of 3T on pass rushing downs. I don’t think it was Patterson as much as it was timing. Griffen was an ascending player that everyone was expecting to be a starter in 2014 after Jared Allen left. Patterson just happened to get hired the same year.

vikesfan89
He'd probably help the offense more as much as the defense since he spent so much time trying to stop McCarthy's offense
swede700
And she mentions further than potentially Andre Patterson could be promoted as well to a role similar to what Kubiak had last season (which would mean that Robert Rodriguez would likely be promoted to D-Line coach). RpMc
As long as Patterson is still around with the team in some regard, I'm good with whatever.
SemperFeist
If it were going to happen it likely would have by now, but I’d still love to see Marvin Lewis as the DC.

I don’t think being a “special advisor” would stop him from taking a coaching job in the NFL, if it were offered.
CriminalMind
Zim finally giving up defensive calling duties to his son ... Honestly that sounds bad. I wonder if Edwards realized he had reached his ceiling in this organization.

Adam Zimmer has been learning from one of the best for his entire life. Seems like as good of a move as any for a coach without previous experience.
