CaptainJohnJSheridan
In the 90s up to the early 2000s we had TV shows set in space! Multiple Star Treks, Babylon 5, Space: Above & Beyond, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, and Firefly! Ever since Battlestar Galactica ended it seems like space hasn't been as big in our culture as it was in the 90s! What happened? Was it the recession? After all there was no money for the space shuttle!
MWil23
We know more about space than our own oceans. That’s crazy.

We've explored maybe 5% of our oceans. We've explored 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000infinity1 of space honestly this forum doesn't have the server space for the amount of zeroes you'd need. We know more about the oceans than we do space.

We know more about the oceans than we do space. OK then, I'll amend my comment: We know marginally more about our own oceans, impacting us much more on a daily basis on our own planet, than we do about space, which we've spent more and a significantly greater proportion amount on since the Cold War Space Race era of the Kennedy administration. skywindO2
Can we ban the OP? It's definitely an astroturfing account. And we have a space force now so I think it's safe to say Americans haven't lost interest in space.

Tugboat
Probably because the Soviets stopped caring about it.
mission27
Because we stopped going there tbh Most likely a lack of smugness in the general population, which is the greatest tragedy of our time, and responsible for the obesity and opioid epidemics

MacReady
Is this trying to generate interest for CBS All Access because I will not pay for it and you have failed.
