Agree to a degree.

A bunch of quick short passes that result in completions but little (if any) YAC - doesnt serve to move the chains against a fast, aggressive and attacking defense.

Stuff like last night? Yes. Slants and such - are preferable (and almost mandated...) over long evolving patterns.

I also think BOTH Williams and Jones will be really important against SF. We need to pound them somewhat with straight ahead / between the tackles running that gets 4-5 yards a pop. Going "sideways" with pitches, tosses or a heavy dose of off tackle stuff....is gonna get hunted down quick.

We'll see.

Unfortunately that dried up against Seattle....Jones looked good at the beginning, but as the game progressed, he was getting stuffed....

Thats why I mentioned Williams.

He's the better "between the tackles" runner IMO.

Probably wont break it for a really long gainer - but he's good for an average gain of 3-5 yards a shot and straight ahead mitigates their DL speed - which is considerable on the corners.

We clearly dont have a big banger - but we need to move the chains. We need to gain positive yards with each down and the sideways stuff - against that DL - could be troublesome.

It will be important for the Packers to change it up from their meeting earlier this season.  The niners will prolly do what they did....cuz they won big - why change?  That's an advantage for the Packers - come out with something different and throw them off-guard right away and force them to adjust.  A key will be for Rodgers to get rid of the ball fast - Bosa and company will be coming....hard.  Hit some quick slants and commit to a route, consequences be damned - just get rid of it.  Garropolo is a pocket passer - pressuring him will be easier to manage than Wilson - just be prepared to stop the run.  We've got an outside chance, but it's a chance I'm very glad to have!!!

Wonder how the Redskins feel, didn't they have both Lafluer and Shanahan on their team at the same time at one point? And now both guys are in the NFC championship as head coaches.

And McVay. 3 of the last 4 coaches in the NFC championship.

But I feel like it’s because GB was up big and wanted to salt away the clock. They knew gb wanted to run. Just like gb knew sea was passing... difference, Wilson just made sandlot plays

Probably also why La Fleur stated they should have let Aaron throw more in the 2nd half. Seattle was keying on the run and Rodgers was on point. Could have iced it earlier than the final drive.

It's gotta be soooo tempting to be conservative at the end there, glad Aaron, Davante and Jimmy came through clutch on those 2 third downs.

If our DBs are able to get both their hands on a JG pass....they've got to snag them.

We're not the biggest PBU secondary.....but we cant be leaving "opportunities" on the field against SF.
There's a lot of things that have to go our way....or we have to make go our way......against that team.

weird choice to include only 4 OL?

Just a random thought here, but you'd kind of expect to see a better group of CBs for the last 4 teams?

  • Packers are seeking their sixth Super Bowl appearance and their first since 2010.
  • 49ers can become the third team to reach the Super Bowl after winning four or fewer games the previous season, joining the 1988 Bengals and 1999 Rams.
  • Titans are looking to become the first team to reach the Super Bowl after a 2-4 start or worse through six games.
  • Chiefs are looking to end the NFL’s 4th-longest active drought without a Super Bowl appearance, the last one being 50 years ago.

We have the most boring stat out of all of these, and it's because we've been good for a while. I'm okay with this. I'm okay with a boring win today too if they decide to throw that our way.
