Pettine went soft in the Sea game.  He's been doing it most of the season.  Personally I'd like to see more aggression on D.  He finally dialed up a blitz on the 2 pt conversion but he should have been mixing it in all game.  Kept screaming blitz damn it.  You can't let a team dink and dunk you all the way down the field.  They eat clock and gas your D.  Exactly what we saw on Sunday.  Without Rodgers heroics we would have lost that game.  Get back to the exotic blitz packages can't lay back especially against SF.  Get some pressure on Jimmy G and he'll fold.  Allow him to stand tall and pick apart our D it is going to be a long game.

This team has yet to lose a game in which they led in the 4th quarter. Pettine is doing something right.

It wouldn't have if Russell Wilson wasn't QB. We stuffed the run, got consistent pressure and the QBs first read was consistently covered, our defense to me was no different than the Vikings game. It was dominant. Russell Wilson is currently the best player in the NFL and what he did was Rodgers "run the table" season esque, he almost single handedly brought that team to a win. 25 QB pressures on 31 attempts. He's like a punt returner with an elite arm.

Yes, Wilson was the difference in the second half.  He drives every DC crazy running around making first downs with his feet.

Up until Ervin showed up we were crap on ST. Menenga needs to go and we need to revamp our approach. No reason we should ever get any kick returns.

One big improvement for me on ST is we no longer get penalized on every kick/punt return with holding and blocks in the back.  Now that we found a returner I am very happy with our ST unit.

I miss his Blitzes. Martinez anyway is deer in headlights in coverage. He needs to Blitz more with Martinez. Not on every play, but more occasionally than he did in Hawks game.

So, if you blitz, how do you typically cover behind it?  I see more man when we blitz.  Could be wrong, but that's what I see.  If you blitz and play man, you turn your backs to Wilson.  If you spy, it's still a man scheme, all Wilson has to do is juke one guy.  Which he does regularly.

I liked the soft zone.  Make him chew time and keep him from getting chunk yards with his legs.

Jimmy G isn't Wilson.  Yah, I'd blitz a little more.  But his weapons outside are legit.  Though I'd like more blitz, I doubt we see it.

That second half was purely Wilson. Green Bay did use the advantage of time, but they mostly avoided giving up big chunk plays and managed to get the stops they needed too. Purely a case of an elite QB doing what elite QBs can do, and the defense still held together. They didn't get the barn doors blown off and fall apart completely.

Can't blitz what you can't catch.  Difference in evading a rush is dramatically difference between Jimmy G and Wilson … night and day.  Jimmy is a statue and Wilson is like catching a ghost.

Wilson was rolling right and creating problems the entire second half. That's a lot of yards given up when only having to defend 50% of the field. My jaw hit the floor when Seattle went trips left on that crucial 3rd down. Big mistake by them IMO

Actually I really think the WR coach needs to be changed.

I honestly don’t think you can be too upset with the wr coach. Our 2-5 wrs include 3 udfas and a 5th round pick. That is a far cry from 09- 17, when we had 3-4 top 90 picks at any given time. MVS took a step back, but you then have Lazard who had developed. They are getting about as much as you can expect from Kumerow and Allison.

I know that we expect them to play to a different standard, however most did but not anymore.
