@Yibbyl not sure what the cost for Perry would be but you can still put the ERFA tag on Foster it wouldn't be that much and he can be expendable when they go from 90 to 53 rather then bringing in someone who would be the same type of player and likely not make the team. He at least knows the play book.

I agree Borj does need competition and eventhough Hauch came back and had some nice kicks in the wild card I still would like to see competition in that spot as well. I would be for spending both 6th rd picks on a Punter and Kicker for competition.

Shaq shouldn't be first resort they should look at some of the options once free agency starts and we all should know by that time whether guys like Yannick make it to the market. If thats the case the bills should have a plan in place to go after him hard.

Jordan Phillips came to Buffalo with a chip on his shoulder as the Dolphins werent giving him the playing time and he complained then let go. If he is going to complain the bills didnt offer him what he wanted so be it and I am sure some team will overpay for him but the bills cant do what they did with Dareus that cost them. Plus paying Star that stupid contract was also an issue. I do hope letting Star go and keeping Luiget for cheap would be the answer this year while having Harrison come back from injury. To pay all that money for interior guys and struggle against the run at times is mind numbing and it needs to be corrected just as much as the pass rush and big target receivers.

Yeah, I agree on the timing for moving Foster (if able...and we better be able to), but the money wasn't my concern. I see him simply taking up a potentially valuable roster spot that we certainly should have a legit chance to upgrade.

And absolutely want to see us swap out Star for Luiget for the immediate future. Luiget flat out executed when he got the chance and I will never understand the numbers behind Star's contract. In no way was he ever worth that much...at least in a 4-3. He really does nothing but take up space. Even in a 3-4, he's actually too small for that scheme unless you maybe you pair him with Wade Phillips and, even then, he's probably a back-up due to his inability to penetrate. Pretty much in every defensive scheme, his combination of body and ability makes him a square peg people try to fit into a round hole.

I think this would be a similar signing to Frank Gore last year. Running on fumes at this point, but he would be a great add to have a veteran leader in the TE room. He could really help Knox take that next step. I think Frank Gore was huge in the development of Devin Singletary. I hope the same happens with Olsen and Knox.

In the least shocking news of all time...Greg Olsen is coming in for a visit this week

This is such a meh move to me. Yes it means that Kroft and Smith are on the hot seat and likely gone and I know Olsen is able to look around because he was cut and not a free agent but a 34 year old going to be a 35 year old te who has seen better days isnt an ideal move to me. It would be an upgrade to kroft but a 1 year at best. If your going to dump money in to the TE position look at Henry/Hooper who has shown they are capable of being the guy for a team. Knox may eventually get there but why not spend 7-9 mil on a Hooper who is there already and could develop a 2 te system that New England showed to work. 2 guys on offense that I only care about on offense is re-signing spain to LG and upgrading the TE position with Hooper or Henry (preferably hooper). The Wr spot can come in the draft

Interesting article and exactly the kind of moves Beane has made in the past...

I especially like the attempt to upgrade Kevin Johnson. IMO, our other Johnson (Taron) needs to be kept around at all costs. He was impressive as a nickleback and could easily make the switch to safety as Hyde did. Kid packs a wallop, too!

Aaaand here we go - our coaching staff is starting to get raided (per The Scoop.com):

San Francisco 49ers: Bills assistant defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton will be taking a position on staff, Alex Marvez tweets.

Source tells @SiriusXMNFL that Chris Kiffin is leaving the @49ers to become new @browns
d-line coach. Kiffin was SF's pass-rush specialist. Aaron Whitecotton, who was @BuffaloBills
assistant d-line coach, is joining the @49ers staff per source

I'm pretty sure he was just replaced by a former Charger Jacques Cesaire. I don't think we formaly fired him or the other DL coach but I'm willing to bet they were told they could look elsewhere.

Couple trade scenarios that may be interesting:

1.) RB David Johnson - Arizona likely won't release him and will need a trade partner. Had a down year last year and comes with his contract but, the contract only has two years left on it. If Arizona flips us Johnson & Pick for a Pick this may be worth the gamble knowing his potential and versatility.

2.) TE David Njoku - Cleveland reportedly looking to send him off elsewhere. Still very young and on his rookie contract which makes this appealing due to the lower cap number and potential receiving threat to pair with Knox. Has a year left on the rookie contract (two if you include option year) so gives us a chance to see what he has and if he can live up to his draft stock from a couple years ago.

David Johnson Contract is ridiculous. Even if traded the bills would still have to cover for 10.3 mil of his contract in 2020 and then 9 mil in 2021. No thanks on that move. He would need a complete restructure and even then your talking about a guy who has missed 18 games in the last 3 seasons. I rather take the risk on a guy like Melvin Gordon or Kenyan Drake at that price tag of 9.5 mil a year. With that being said the RB situation does need to be handled but there are better and cheaper routes to take then this trade.

David Njoku is appealing as you said hes on his rookie contract still. Is he an upgrade to knox and kroft at this point in his career? With him missing some time this year and him underperforming in his 1st 3 years I would take a late round flyer on him but will they be willing to give that up for cheap?
