KC_Guy
10 minutes left for another quick one. An Overview: Having all three returning seems obvious, doesn't it? They are used to one another, have their timings down … it's all automatic. Or is it not? The Players: The easy one is Harrison Butker. He just got his extension, he's young, got a big leg and is usually reliable. However, his 90% FG percentage isn't top of pops, and three missed PATs (95% completion) is ... well, let's say improvable. Nevertheless, with his contract and performance he's safe for the foreseeable future. Dustin Colquitt saw some competition in Jack Fox (currently on the DET practice squad) last offseason, who returned when Colquitt seemed slightly hobbled. He's entering the final season of his current contract (actually on a reduced cap), but I wouldn't be surprised to see another guy spending time at training camp for an extended tryout. And if that guy convinces those in power - Colquitt might be out in order to secure a longer term solution at the position. Dead Money (650 k$) definitely is not a hinderance. But neither is his cap hit if he stays. Finally James Winchester. Not sure what to make out of him. He had some mishaps this season. Would be surprised not to see him face competition as well. The Outlook: This is an interesting unit to watch. We may see a heavy shake-up here this year or next. I expect a punter on the practice squad at least temporarily. onejayhawk
Colquitt has been an institution for 15 years , but he will be 39 years old before camp starts. His range is not what it once was and he is not pinning teams back as often. It's not an urgent thing, but our next punter needs to be on the agenda. J I like Dustin but I was hoping we’d take Dickson last year. I don’t think any punter this year is a big enough upgrade to spend draft capital on. The class is too deep and we only have five picks. I think at least one more year with Dustin unless we get lucky ala Butker.
TedLavie
Plus let's be real, a punter is probably not where we need to spend too much money on with our offense. Edited January 16, 2020 by TedLavie

It isn't luck so much as putting in the time end effort for a low priority position. J
