It wouldn't surprise me if the Bengals management didn't even think to make the call. edit: Just realized he was hired as an OC, not an assistant. Makes sense as to why Cincinnati wouldn't even be considered, even if they were interested. This, plus Bengals hired Zac Taylor because of his offensive strengths. Most head coaches that call their own plays are too prideful to hire someone else to do that, especially when it is someone who may end up being a threat to their position.
