So just started to look into this years draft coverage..what’s the deal with Julius Brents the corner from K state? Literally every team has interviewed him

He's a pretty good mid-round prospect that's why

They're also potentially in a nice spot to trade. Assuming you have Stroud, Young, Carter, and Will Anderson all gone (in any order), you're sitting there at 5 and can easily fake interest in Richardson to drive up a trade offer with, say, Carolina a few spots later.

Or, even better for them, 3 QB's go ahead of them and they're guaranteed Carter or Anderson at 5.

For sure and with so many picks already, why not take a developmental QB for down the road?

The only thing that makes me question whether they'd take him is whether or not they think the division is ripe for the taking. The Rams are in full firesale/rebuild mode, the Cardinals are in my opinion a disaster, and while SF may have the best roster in the league, they're down Purdy and have Trey L at the helm this year.

With Pete getting older, maybe he wants to make a run the next 3 years.

Regardless, they're in a very nice spot.

Exactly, they’re in a great spot. Nobody can assume they’ll take a non QB.

Anyone know of a really respected CB scout in the draft community? The equivalent of like a Brandon Thorn, but for CB?

Seems like a position where it's hard to find advanced analysis.

I will fall back on Deion Sanders when he covered the combine.  They had him watching the DB drills and he said that none of the CBs knew their craft.  They are taught just enough to run the system that their HC wants.

I tend to stick with that and try to project based on what they show.  It is really hard.  Take Joey Porter Jr.  What ever tape on him playing off man or zone he looks terrible.  He does well in press man ( and is grabby).  Does that mean he can't learn off man and zone techniques?  Judgement call and total guess.

With the depth at CB in this draft, if I were a team that plays 99% off man and zone ( Steelers) why would I take him and HOPE he can learn vs someone like Cam Smith or Ringo who have shown that they are good in exactly what your scheme is?
