Obviously they’ve got Lamar Jackson, but could be looking to draft a long term high end backup in case he ends up missing 3-5 games a season. I'm very open about my reservations for Simmons strictly bc he's not really a one position guy and those people worry me. Aside from that, he's everything you want in a prospect. That seems like...a major overdraft, not just because I don't believe in Hurts as a QB, but because that's a high pick that they could use elsewhere, whether at the WR positions or to reload elsewhere. Why not have a high end backup who can run the exact same offense in case Lamar happens to miss a couple games? Investing in some insurance for your MVP seems like a smart move to me, not to mention they already have a super bowl worthy roster. Definitely a luxury pick though.
