aceinthehouse Posted January 17, 2020 Share Posted January 17, 2020 Not only do we have the former Head Coach from Carolina in Ron Rivera, but also the former QB Coach/Off Coordinator in Scott Turner. Yea, most would say it isn't gonna happen & I'm certainly not advocating it, either. But we know Ron has had success with Cam. Cam's value is probably the lowest you'll ever see it, do to his injuries the last 2 seasons. And you know we will be exploring adding a veteran somewhere. Let's also not forget Rivera's own words in his press conference in " this is not a 5 year plan...we are gonna win now...I don't have the patience & neither does he."(meaning Snyder). I'm paraphrasing a little, but you get the gist of it. The only question is, how can they justify adding Cam Newton, when they drafted Haskins a year ago? Cause I doubt Cam, nor Haskins would be ok with a backup role. So either it doesn't happen & some other team trades for Cam or Haskins gets traded? Which I doubt as well, as he's Snyder's boy. But be honest with yourself...do you believe there's a remote possibility that the Redskins at least explore this option? Solidify the Defense, trade for Cam & make a run at the SB? And if so? One, I think the Panthers are dumb if they move on from him and two, we’re dumb if we trash our investment in Haskins. I don’t want to spend draft picks on another QB that we’d have to give an astronomical salary to and still have Smith on the books. It’s just not feasible and makes no sense for this young team. Cam, does know it. He could be plugged right in as starter. Again, I want to roll with Haskins & hope this doesn't happen. But do I fear it could? Absolutely If I'm Rivera & promised to Snyder & fans that I'm gonna win immediately? I'm keeping all options available. Just something to keep in the back of our minds. Does it happen? Probably not. You guys should check out their forums. (Not sure about here) But other Panther forums are lighting up with...full rebuild posts They just hired Brady (LSU) There's talk of them trading up to 1, trading Cam, etc. Luke just retired It's blowing up with trade Cam posts. Some are for it, some hate it... But its there. Most likely, a different team trades for him. But the consensus is...Cam Newton is gone. Cut or traded... They are rebuilding Which is why I created this thread. Where does Cam go? Does Rivera even want him as his QB? I have no idea....
