‘The Raiders finished with a red zone touchdown percentage of 52.8, which was 21st in the league. The 2019 offense was 14thin red zone opportunities improving from 27th in 2018 but still finished right around the same percentage, which was 22nd the previous season. For perspective, the four years before he came back from the booth, the Raiders average red zone touchdown percentage was 62.32, with an average ranking of 7.75.

Gruden performed in the red zone in his previous stint with the Raiders finishing in the top ten from 1999-2001. However, his best-ranked offense, which finished fifth in 2001, would have ranked 13th in 2019, where the importance of scoring touchdowns has grown with the rise of analytics. When taking a look at Gruden’s red zone history in Tampa Bay, it went downhill during his run with a new team.

During his seven-year stint with the Buccaneers Gruden led offensive units finished with a red zone percentage of 47.1 and an average ranking of 21.2. His last two seasons were his worst finishing 29th in 2007 and then 30th in 2008, which ultimately led to his firing and becoming the commentator for Monday Night Football. This led to Gruden never having an offense score more than 22 points per game.’

Grudens QBs on Tampa Bay were abysmal. Which is his own fault, yes, Gruden has never been praised for his GM capabilities. He’s a terrible GM. However, on the Raiders with Gannon Gruden tore the NFL apart. It’ll be no different once he gets a real QB. Carr is not much better than those Tampa Bay guys he had. Carr is like a less intelligent (way less intelligent) but stronger armed Jeff Garcia.

Gruden has a history of bad scoring offenses.

I think it’d actually be cool if we closed this thread March 1st, and make a new Carr 2.0 one on the first day of Free Agent tampering period March 11th, whether he stays a Raider or leaves. Gives everyone a 10 day mandatory break from any Carr debates. I think it creates suspense as well, which I like. What do you guys think? And then we’ll let @Silver&Black88 close shop for a bit.

Jeez you guys get on us so hard when we bring up Carr’s past seasons but when it’s Gruden or Brady it’s expected that they’ll round back into form. Like it is possible that Gruden isn’t good at play calling in the RZ but having an all star offense masked that.

Meh how many times do we see the same gif/meme/post about Carr and the scoring offense. Fact remains Gruden has a bad scoring offense.

Carr looked like a Top 12 QB in: Denver x2, LAC 2nd game, GB 1st Half, Houston, Lions (#32 Pass Defense, one of the worst ever actually. Every QB had a career game against them).

Carr looked like a Bottom 3 QB (no exaggeration at all, he shut down 100% in these games and all his flaws apparent) against: Chiefs x2, Vikings, Jets, Jaguars 2nd Half, Colts. Defense and Jacobs won the Colt game off a horrible Carr showing.

Below average: Bengals, Chargers first game, Green Bay 2nd Half.

Neutral but good game managing performance: Bears, Jags 1st half.

Carrs bad performances far outweigh his good ones. In his bad games he legit shuts down and looks like he’s in the running for worst QB in the NFL.

When he has good games, he is not in the running for looking the best QB in the NFL, not even close to Top 5. Plus Carrs good games are usually taking advantage of horrendous secondarys.

Carr played one of the worst NFL Pass Defense schedules ever in 2016. Why don’t Carr supporters ever talk about this?

So far in the last 3 months you have had Carr as a top 12-15 QB, then a bottom 10 QB, then a QB that every other QB would be an upgrade over, then a QB who you think we can get a 2nd round pick for, how are we supposed to take anything you say seriously?

Carr can go for a 2nd Round Pick, every QB has different value for every team. You are not even worth replying to, you have been proven time and time again to just troll and bash other posters. That’s all your posts.

You are the least quoted person in this subforum. Why? Because your posts usually have absolutely zero substance.

The repeat pics do get annoying Lol

meh

gruden gets carr to the redzone then carr decides to

a) fumble it into the end zone

b) throw a pick

c) throw it away on 4th down

d) score a td

imo we always have a 25% chance to score with carr as qb

if Option “d” happens then Carr’s a goat

If option a through c) happens gruden has a bad scoring offense

am I doing it right?
