Nah, I don't think so. Just watched it again to see how it went. Think there were a few things at play for Khabib to escape. It was the arm-in guillotine, which gives more control but is a little harder to finish Khabib stayed calm and did everything perfect to defend it Poirier was gassed from throwing hard strikes and defending the wrestling. You saw at the end of the 2nd round, and the start of the 3rd, Poirier was breathing heavy and looking tired. On that point, the arm-in guillotine really needs you to squeeze rather than using leverage, and I think he didn't have the squeeze in his arms. He didn't really get out by slipping out. I mean, he did at the end, but it had already been in for a while, that was a normal length of time for the head to be able to slip out. To be fair it was a really good attempt from Poirier, and Khabib was definitely in a bit of trouble. A lesser grappler, he might have tapped him. Complete toss up, but I think Volk would be smart enough to stay away and strike from a distance (even if the reach would hurt him).
