At this point, I almost feel like we're being forced to re-sign Bryan Bulaga. We really don't have any real strong options behind him currently on the roster. I don't mind Kenny Clark at those nose tackle, but we need a body better than Dean Lowry. I'd add a veteran TE and a developmental TE in the late Day 2, early Day 3 portions. Don't know if that big FA signing is going to come. Is there really one worth it out there? I think Cory Littleton is the highest ranked FA LB out there. Not totally sure about him. And this LB class as a whole is underwhelming. Right now, I see Isaiah Simmons (who is a likely top 10 pick) and Kenneth Murray, and then a bunch of meh. Draft - We could draft an OT, then WR, then NT and get good value. FA - We could bring in a veteran WR and sign Littleton. I would pay top dollar for Littleton. Dude is a great coverage LBer. How many of our defensive starters start for San Francisco? Kenny Clark, the Smith's and probably Amos. San Francisco was the better team. Nothing wrong with that. We need at least one veteran WR, especially if Rodgers isn't going to throw to his young WRs.

Let them go early. 285 yards on the ground is BAD. Seriously. It looks like the numbers from a horrid college game.
pacman5252
I don’t get why Gary didn’t get much time this game. Legitimately the one thing he does well is run defense. What a waste

Because I think top dollar should be reserved to players like Kuechly, Wager, etc. who change the game at LB. Littleton isn't a game-changing player. He's very good in coverage and fairly average against the run.
{Family Ghost}
Easiest fix is spend more money at Dline and stuff the run. Make teams one dimensional and profit.

Sasquatch
Kinda want a bad-azz like Saleh roaming our sidelines. Kinda obnoxious at times, but he has that berzerker mentality I like for defense.

I mean - its downright stupid we can be trailing a team like we were and they'd only thrown 6 passes. Thats more than a head scratcher. That speaks to a SERIOUS talent disparity and I also think scheme. Yeah, for the most part our D-Line single gaps & unless the lineman are athletic enough to tackle in space you'll struggle. I wonder if that's why Shanahan likes faster RB's? Plus, penetrating against a team like the 49ers can leave holes past the line of scrimmage & your ILB's exposed. Ours were in both games. You can do that quite effectively against the outside-zone attack if you run the 6-1. It's how teams disrupted our (the Rams) outside-zone running game. If a team is good enough at running the inside-zone, they can burn you a bit there, but with Kenny Clark, I think y'all would be better suited to defend it than most.
