But honestly just have to see how we approach free agency. Jimmy will need to make strides and get better. He was good but there's another step he can take and we need him to take that step. Year two after the ACL surgery is when a player really gets back to form. Saleh and Shanny need to learn why they can't quite close the deal. Super excited to see Bosa fully unleashed next year and become a perennial DPOY candidate. Just have to hope we get another crack at this and stay healthy. Oh well, was a fun season and enjoyed it very much so. Just really disappointed right now. Not even angry, just disappointed. 2012 I was devastated but don't have that feeling this time around. I agree 100% with this, but you speak with perspective in a time when most cannot. I think the glaring difference between 12 and 19 is that in 12 we knew the team wasn't long for sustained success. They were aging. Now we see a young team with young impact players. Future is bright. Reality of being a sports fan is that we use it as an escape in most cases. I'm ok that it didn't work out because at the end of the day I want to be entertained and goddamnit, this season was so damn entertaining. Only real downfall is the wait for August. It's been a pleasure this season.
blizofoz45
Great game by the 49ers. I hope fans and the media keep in mind that the 9ers got there without a generational talent at QB leading the way. Winning as a team = great coaching. Full stop. (It also means you'll be in the thick of it for years to come)

Lots of money will be needed soon, still have to hit on draft picks, Jimmy has to be the guy because he is the guy moving forward. It can vanish in a hurry. Everyone should just enjoy the window for as long as possible, because they close quick.

It's been a pleasure this season. Honestly, at that time I don't think many thought we were going to only have one more shot at it after 2012. Kaepernick looked like a force of nature in that playoff run and we still had our awesome LB duo and Aldon was one of the best pass rushers in the game etc. It was just devastating because I was younger and that was the first time the team got to the SB in damn near two decades. This time around at least we had been there seven years ago so it was somewhat recent and you just become more mature. This team certainly can be built to last but it comes down to Jimmy continue to developing and hitting on our draft picks. Also if we are able to bring back guys like Armstead. So happy for the type of fight the team showed all season. Have a mentally tough team that never wilted even when it dealt with injury after injury. On to next season..........

That's why it is embarrassing how some grown folks are acting. It's fine to be upset and disappointing, but what they are doing is just stupid. Most of those people are void of anything meaningful in life. Here is what happened in my house. I sat in silence with a fellow Niner fan and then my 8 year old Falcon fan Son walked over to me patted me on the back and said it will be alright Dad. Just like I did fo him when the Falcons lost. I'm a Dad, I got bigger fish to fry. Just some major perspective from an 8 year old when he looked at me and said maybe next year our teams will play for a chance to go the Super Bowl........ He then promptly asked me how long i would be sitting in silence....lolololol Snap out of it guys, it's purely entertainment.

We kept it up for 1 more year then lost our window. TBH, with Armstead/Ward/Sanders, our window is probably gone. But it was a fun season. It was fun to discuss with yáll. We'll probably go back to 8-8 tier. Making it to the SB is HARD. But win or lose, its just a game. I handled it better than our 2012 season loss. But it hurts nonetheless Mainly for Staley. Now we have to go through another pointless TC/Preseason, another grueling regular season and playoffs. Tough competition with the Cardinals/Rams/Seahawks. Its gona be extemely tough to make it back to the SB, let alone win it. Its not the end of the world, but our loss was the worst possible outcome. I'm sorry, but it was horrendous. I have serious concerns going forward, but we’re better now than we have been in years. Learn and get better. But I won’t get over this until we win one Not over 12 and not over this

We spent a lot of time and money following this team but it is for entertaining reasons only. End of the day it is just that. If this is the last time we get to the SB for a while, then that will suck but it was a hell of a ride as Jimmy G said. Props to everyone in the organization for the type of season we had!

But I won’t get over this until we win one Not over 12 and not over this I don't share in the concerns......at least where I stand I guess I don't have any real glaring ones. Jimmy wasn't great tonight, but he was more then good enough all season. They have shown they don't need elite level RBs to have success in the run game. They also were effective in the pass game minus real playmakers for half the season out side of Kittle. Once Deebo figured it out and Manny came over they had more playmakers on offense. Defensively, I have 0 worries. They are built to last. Maybe they can't bring back Armstead. I hope they can, but then maybe focus in the draft has to be to find that replacement. They still have a very good rotation of guys and elite coaching to elevate those players. LBs are only going to grow more and same for the secondary. You have a guy like Greenlaw who will be a star IMO. Ward is an interesting case. He was very good this season, but they made opt to move on because you can't keep them all. Either way, this team will be back for a long while.
John232
Concerns: JImmy G. This just feels awfully close to a Dalton.Flacco situation. Thin line. Greater concern; Money We have a lot of talent that;s cheap right now. We’re going to be making very hard choices soon and furthermore, we’re aging a bit ion the backend of our defense. Sherman, Ward, Tarth are all close to the end of their deals. Even with Spoon and Eman, we’re going to probably see some serious turnover there. We also have the offensive line and receivers with some potential turnover. I’m just so mad man. I am so mad. We are so close and just choked it away.

A lot of the critics are guys that played in a bygone era or people who could never do it at that level. If I'm Jimmy I'm not gonna concern myself with opinions from guys like Skip Bayless and Steven A or guys like David Carr and MJD.
