MKnight82
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/01/22/dan-snyder-exploring-options-for-gambling-at-stadium-in-maryland/ Washington owner Daniel Snyder is exploring whether he could get legal approval for sports betting in Maryland, where FedEx Field is located and where Snyder has looked into building a new stadium down the road. The Washington Post reports that Snyder met with multiple members of the state legislature in Maryland and conditioned keeping the team in Maryland on the ability to offer sports betting at a new stadium. The idea Snyder was floating was to build a new stadium on the FedEx Field site, with gambling on the premises.
ARTMONK HOF
He FINALLY did the right thing by bringing in a person to clean house and bring a good culture to this organization which was long overdue. BUT now it’s back to business and it’s time to be REAL and to show what he really is, a businessman who’s primary reason in owning this franchise is to make money! For me, Bringing in gambling into the stadium will really cheapen this organization

A lot of organizations are already pursuing it.

MKnight82
I would be for this if he lowered the prices of other items like parking and concessions since he was making new money on the bets. But he won't do that.

It can bring in a certain clientele that you really don’t want around your wife and kids. If it’s in another part of the stadium than that’s different. That clientele in my mind is honestly no worse than the drunks that go.

lavar703
Ahh whatever. The stadium is going to be empty when he tries to sell PSLs anyway.
offbyone
I think this is the direction things are going in sports venues. He could just be using it as a ploy to motivate D.C. to get it together and offer us an option on some land. The clinentele you speak of can put in a bet without having to spring for tickets/parking etc. As MikeT14 said the league is finally realizing the money that’s in gambling and is trying to get their piece of the pie. The 2020 draft is at the Bellagio for Pete’s sake. Sure there will just be a few kiosks or so to play at or even an app where guys can throw their money away by the play right at their seat, lol
turtle28
This would mean he needs to build his next stadium in DC. They're already putting it in the Capitol One Arena, they took out the Green Turtle and have out in sports betting there.

Shouldn't be a huge problem unless you take your wife and kids down to the sports book with you to waste your $ away on betting on the Redskins! I'm pretty sure gambling will be around in Virginia if not this year then maybe next.

Maybe, they should have casinos by then and marijuana dispensaries this year, not so sure if they’d have sports betting by then. Plus, there will be legal challenges like in DC, so it may take a year or two until they're actually finally approved on it.
