General off-season discussion/plan thread

I would not be mad with that contract. He definitely deserves every penny of that (well as much as a pro athlete deserves millions of dollars). He resets the market by making ~1.5 times as much as the next highest paid guy and we don't have to pay top receiver money. Seems like it'd be a fair deal to me. I don't know why they would wait until Friday to announce it to me. Sounds fishy to me unless his agent had to be at the facility or something? IDK I'll believe it when one of the Matt's reports it.

Here's the breakdown

According to the source, it will be a six-year extension worth $94.8 million -- or $15.8 million per season. Of that money, the 49ers guaranteed 50 percent of it, or $47.4 million. Kittle also will receive a $25 million signing bonus, and the 49ers will structure his deal in such a way that he will cost them only $10 million of their salary cap space in 2021.

waiting on someone else to report who's trustworthy to make a thread.

There are rumors floating around that we're trying to sign Tavon Austin. I rarely question Shanny but c'mon...we really can't do any better than that? I mean did he and Taylor Gabriel have some kind of friction I don't know about??? Gabriel seems like the much better play from the outside looking in.

Might be looking at his special teams value. James is hurt.

I wouldn't be opposed to working out Percy Harvin as well since we are looking for a return specialist.

Taylor can return punts and so can Jet. Pettis even if we're in a pinch. Seems like we're kicking the tires and in regards to his downfield ability. We lost ours when Benjamin opted out.

That guy is an actual cancer, no thanks. We have one of the best locker rooms in the nfl, no reason to disrupt it by bringing that guy in.
