Hell 2004-2009 Manning in general was. 2013 Peyton broke nearly every single season passing record. He threw for 5,500 yards, 55 TDs, 10 INT and averaged a career high 342 passing yards per game. Sure, but in 2004 his arm strength was completely different than it was in 2013. He averaged the most yards per attempt of his career in 04 and was letting it go downfield more often. In 13 he was more of a surgeon with quick timing routes/rub routes. Different types of offenses in each year but still both yielded insane results. 2 of the best seasons of his career. Either way, peak Peyton when he was 'on' was insanity to watch. He did it in different ways than other QBs. It wasnt huge downfield passing on vertical routes more than it was him having the ability to rip defenses apart limb by limb marching down the field. At least in 2013 he would just pick defenses apart at will and there was nothing many teams could do to slow it down. That whole offense in general just scored TD after TD after TD. Still the only team in NFL history to have 5(!) players reach 10+ TDs. Edited March 23, 2020 by AkronsWitness

Hence they got crapped on that super bowl. Much like Brady. He never goes deep! Just shreds you with quick dump offs and slices your in the intermediate routes. Would rather throw a ball away and protect his statline than try to fit a ball in a tight window when his team needs him to make the big throw This is pretty hilariously Ig orant considering to gets has possibly the biggest "how the **** did he even make that throw!?" highlight reel of any qb over the last decade. FinSting
Rook Marino was a joy to watch, simply shocking, the NFL was not ready for him. Miami already had a starting QB that had led the team to a Super Bowl appearance, and rookie Marino sent him to the bench early in year one during an era when rookie QB's did not start in the NFL. Even during training camp, the crusty old vets were like "uhh, what is the deal with this guy's arm?" Just sucks that right as he was Prime Marino, the team's aging Killer B's defense dissolved with retirements and whatnot, making it tough to win. Those Prime Marino Years, wasted ugh. Then they rebuilt the defense just in time to run into the buzzsaw of Buffalo's deeeeeeep roster of Constant Pro Bowl Players. Bad timing bro. That quick-release arm, the gunslinger mentality. So fun to watch! Plus he could bust out a 6.2 in the 40-yd dash. Edited April 6, 2020 by FinSting

Doesn't mean he'd throw 60+ TDs and 6k yards in today's game. I don't think some people realize the combination of unlikely things that have to happen perfectly to throw for that many stats. While unlikely, if a QB like Jameis Winston can thrown for 5100 yds, I'd be willing to assume Marino with Today's pansy .... rules for WR's, would probably come real close TBH. Could you imagine Marino as a Buc last season? Seriously? 🤯🤯 What he accomplished in 84' in that Era, those rules is more impressive then anything Mahomes has done thus far , Manning in 13' and Brady in 07' IMO.
