Man on the Moon was objectively good. Me, Myself and Irene was funny on first watch. Did not age well. The Cable Guy was a good movie. People expected it to be Carrey's usual brand of comedy, but it was very good. Liar, Liar was funny on first watch. Did not age well. Everything else he's done has been bad to awful. In the 70's it was Belushi, in the 90's it was Farley, in the 2000's it was Seth Rogen, etc. Usually their comedy only resonates with that generation, and usually doesn't age well. I mean, I like Animal House just fine, but I don't laugh every time Belushi comes on screen like people my parents' age do. Carey's in the same mold minus the fat, as is Ferrell.
