Antonio Brown back to Steelers?

AB is as remorseful as his agent and PR specialist tell him to be.

Like I said before, if he was quiet for a year or so, and then came back and said this, I might buy it. But this is a guy who, just a month ago, was still bad-mouthing Juju and Ben, and now all of a sudden he feels bad?

Go away AB.  Get help.

Maybe not the Steelers, but somewhere else in the league.  Brown appears to be a moron and I've probably been one of the harshest on him; however, it's not like he killed someone or has been found guilty of some reprehensible crime, to my knowledge.  He'll get another shot somewhere as long as he continues to stay on the right path.

My biggest question is can he still play at the uber elite level he was the last time he was on the field (Not counting the game with the Patriots).  He hasn't played anywhere near a full season since the 2018 season.  He's about to turn 32 years of age.

It is proven that that he is a problem in the locker room.  Problems in locker rooms effect the team and you need to be a team to win.  THat being said I could easily see J Jones signing him as the savior for Dallas.  Might work out well in the short term because he will be motivated

AB to the Cowboys would be entertaining.

I would consider it but it would have to be under the following conditions.

  • League minimum base salary with ZERO in signing bonus.
    • no incentive to show up and be a turd for free money
    • a waiver in the deal that he can not try to claim the full year base pay if he is cut during the season (not sure if this is allowed)
  • Escalating per game bonus pay 20k, 40k, 60k, 80k, 100k per game and so on.
    • he gets rewarded and compensated properly if he is a team player
  • Mandated daily therapy sessions.
    • I am not talking shock treatment or deep psychoanalysis, just someone to help him with his obvious agitation and rage issues
  • A character coach in the locker room who's job it is to mediate disagreements and calm people down
    • His main focus would obviously be AB
    • Lets face it, Tomlin could use the help anyway
  • A 30 minute sit down with a team friendly reporter so he can do far more than just issue an apology (not looking for softballs, just avoiding headline grabbing scum)
    • Fans and the team need to hear the sincerity and some details on how he is treating his obvious disorder
    • A NFL led PSA about the dangers of getting caught up in social media negativity with a baby-steps-to-recovery AB as the face of it would also be awesome
  • NO SOCIAL MEDIA AT ALL (even in the offseason)
    • He is an addict and this is his narcissism-fueled drug

None of this is going to happen, but it is what I would need to give him another shot.
