TCMD MOCK OFFSEASON AND DRAFT

Hello,

I have been called upon to replace the prior GM of the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 TCMD MOCK OFFSEASON AND DRAFT.   I am a GB Packer fan, so I am not as familiar with the Bills.

Things have been pretty fast and furious since taking over.  I am looking for any thoughts or help that anyone would like to provide in the process.  The link above should have some information.  There is also a few other threads in that sub forum.

Here is a current depth chart that I put together, but it certainly is not all inclusive.

He was traded before I took over for the previous GM

Well then he deserved to be fired.

And so do you if you were the one who traded Matt Milano.

I'll be honest, I don't know the format or logistics of how this all works but looking at the depth chart and the Bills look way worse then they are now and a lot of moves make little to no sense. Tevin Coleman, Jimmy Graham and those LB's come to mind.

He was involved early, made a few trades (adding Coleman, Graham, sent Morse and Lotulelei out).  He then went MIA and missed the franchise tagging deadline and the first round of UFA contract offers.

Yes, I traded away Milano for what I thought was good value in adding a late 3rd round pick.  If you have further thoughts on why that move was bad, I am more than willing to listen to insight and opinions.

I'm not going to lie, if this was the actual real offseason the Bills pulled off I would probably move to an isolated island in northern Canada and never speak to anyone ever again. For a team that had like $80m in cap space and not a lot of guys hitting FA we somehow managed to get way worse. Trading Morse for Dan Kilgore? Trading Milano & a pick just to move up in the draft? Signing Dennard & Johnson to a combined over $100m? Guess that means saying goodbye to Tre White too. Trading for Jimmy Graham, who I highly doubt would be anymore productive than Kroft but I'm sure has a bigger contract. Isiah McKenzie wasn't even tendered as a RFA so we somehow managed to get worse at WR when that should've been one of the main areas of concern. Focused on depleting our offensive line and linebackers and replacing it with overpaid CB's.

Unless all 9 of those draft picks are guaranteed to be quality starters and upper echelon players, this honestly has been a complete disaster. I'm sorry I don't mean to sound like a jerk about it and I know you took over part way through and it's not all on you but this is just really bad.

Tough move coming into a team you are not really familiar with and trying to play GM. Frankly, you were destined to fail in the eyes of Bills fans, much like I would be viewed as incompetent suddenly handling the Packers' off-season. No offense, as I am sure you did what you thought would be best given the limited info you had (and certainly no one offered advice once you asked), but wow, this has been pretty ugly. Your Round 3 UFA signings were probably the strongest. I like the addition of Sharpe and resigning Spain was critical. Question the value of Lawson's contract vs. production, though admittedly he will probably be the wildcard in reality this offseason...making for some difficult valuation. Bradham is a liability in coverage - something that is a must for a LB on our D (back 7 gotta be effective in zone), so I really hate that signing.

I do appreciate the effort and the fact that you asked for opinions. Just hasn't resulted in an improved pre-draft roster IMO.

Just saw you took Mims over Higgins? Nothing against Mims, just have Higgins a few spots ahead of him.

Higgins not doing the drills and testing at the combine raised a few questions for me.  I think they are close in tier for the WR group.
