From looking at a lot of articles it looks like you guys are basically in a salary crunch and will have to cut quite a few guys to get in the green.

i know a lot of you don’t want to trade Diggs but in the case what would you have to have for him? And be realistic, it’s a guy who I don’t think wants to be there.... don’t say two 1st and a player or a 1st and 2nd, be realistic! What would it take to get him?

hes not Odell Beckham who got a 1st and he’s not Antonio Brown (pre mental problems and current state of mind) who garnered a 3rd.

so question is with you guys in Cap Hell! What would it take!?!

my offer would be our 3rd round pick (#2 in that round) and a future 3rd.

take in to account this is an extremely deep class for WR in the draft. I could see you guys going WR in the first like Justin Jefferson

I'd say a value of around a mid-first-round pick.  If we trade him, we would have to replace him and he is one of the better receivers in the league.  We likely aren't going to be able to replace him with a third-round pick.

As far as our cap is concerned, we might have to lose a player or two, but it's not like we have to dump a bunch of players.  I would guess the Vikings could be looking to get rid of older guys like Xavier Rhodes, Everson Griffin, or Linval Joseph before trading a younger player like Diggs.  Just my two cents.  Good luck in the draft!

Just now, vikes635 said:

Diggs is 14.5 mil against the cap but Cutting or trading him only frees up 9 mil but 5.5 mil would end up being dead money. We will not be trading Diggs based off salary.

I may have those numbers switched around too. could be 5.5 cap saved 9 mil dead I'm not 100% sure how to read this chart I'm looking at.

Realistically?  Washington doesn't have anything to make a trade worthwhile!  Diggs will not be leaving Minnesota in 2020.  2021 may be another story.

Agreed.  A first I certainly would consider it.  Anything less, we'll talk again in 2021 when we could save $9M against the cap by moving him.

The Vikes are better off cutting Rhodes, Reiff, and Joseph then the best offensive player, who’s still very young and only has a cap savings of $5m. Knowing that there is little upside in moving him for cap reasons, when there is fat that can be trimmed, I’d not consider anything less than a first and another top 100 pick. What incentive is there for the Vikes to move him when Diggs has never asked to be traded and and the cap savings are minimal. You’re just going  to end up using a high pick on a WR which kind of defeats the purpose of trading Diggs.

Last year showed there isn’t anyone on the roster that can fill in full time when Thielen was out, and who knows where Thielen is at now, maybe his career will fizzle as an injury prone 30 year old.

Diggs wants to win at the end of the day. Why would he be happy to go to the Redskins of all teams?

Diggs to the team in Washington with the offensive nickname is brought up every year because he is from that area. It's similar to people prognosticating Winfield Jr., Moss (Jr.), Tyler Johnson, etc... to the Vikings due to connections with former Vikings and/or the region. Fun to talk about, especially for the locals, but when the national outlets do it, (like Kiper mocking Winfield to Minnesota in the 1st!) it just seems lazy.
