For the 'arm length matters' for offensive tackle crowd, here are the top 20 performing tackles from the last few years. Their average arm length is in the 46% percentile for everyone in the mock draftable database and 9 of the top 20 have an arm length below the feted threshold of 34 inches. Five had a shorter arm length than Jonah Williams whose arm length of 33.62 caused a stir last year.

I remember when Joe Thomas was criticized for his short arms at 33.75 inches as well.

I like it for what it is, but it's about what you do with the information that comes out which is important.

Is there any reason to suspect that "doing athletic testing in the evening instead of in the morning" will throw off the value of the testing data as a historical comparison?

As for the OL arm length issue it seems like the threshold should be "anything over 33" is not a minus".
