Week 2 Heroes

Offense - OT Julie'n Davenport: Low hanging fruit would be to say Mr. Watson, but Davenport really showed a lot of progress in this game. Coming in on a short week, Davenport played extensively as the "#6 OL" on a weak Texans front, and did well in that spot. He sealed the edges for outside runs, displayed quick feet in pass protection and brought a toughness to an OL that needed it. I'm thinking sooner rather than later, he will be our starting RT. Later rather than sooner, he'll be our starting LT.

Defense - Bernardrick McKinney: In a week where you saw a team captain suspended for 10 games following another positive PED test, you needed his heir apparent to step up and make big plays, and McKinney delivered. The 2nd team All Pro had six tackles (4 solo) and two sacks; His 2nd sack was a display of discipline and instinct, smelling out the play fake and tracking Andy Dalton on the roll out to a loss on 3rd and short. Having such a presence in the middle makes the loss of Brian Cushing that much more of a blessing in disguise, and provides the two young guys an vet example to follow.

derrick henry. demarco murray's been useless these first two weeks and appears to be battling some sort of injury- henry jump-started our offense and punished the jags defense all the way down the field when everyone in the stadium knew we were going to run every play to ice the game.

he also appears to take particular enjoyment in trucking jalen ramsey, which is awesome
