Lions resigned amendola

I'm interested in what the money is. If it's the same as last year or just a touch more, this is a good move by Quinn. In somewhat related news, it makes me wonder if Brady is going back to the Patriots. Amendola had said publicly that he would be interested in playing with Brady if he went elsewhere. However, he left NE to play for Miami in order to get paid and he likely had a chance to go back to NE if they wanted him back last year. So if I put two and two together, Brady is going back to NE and Amendola wasn't going to sign there/they weren't going to offer a contract to him anyway.

Interesting.

Either way, I'm glad that he's returning. He's clearly a guy that fully buys into the Patricia environment, and I foresee us bringing in a young receiver this year. If Patricia happens to keep his job, it only helps this team to have players that buy in and support the coach.

This makes sense. Amendola was good last year, probably won't cost a ton, and keeps the Lions from absolutely needing to get another WR in here. They can hopefully add someone in the draft and let them develop without forcing them to take on a key role in 2020.

What do you guys think about something like this (I'm just spitballing here):

- Lions re-sign Amendola

- Lions trade Marvin Jones (Saves $6M+/-)

- Lions draft a WR (Rounds 1-3)

- Lions bring in a mid-tier FA ($2-4M/year)

Would this be an overall better WR room than last year, the same or worse?

Most likely worse. Could be better if you draft a stud but not likely.

Hold on to Marv instead of that other move
