SkippyX
Jim Lee Howell was coach of the Giants in the 50's. From '54 to '58 his OC was Lombardi and his DC was Landry. The won the Championship in '56 Lombardi's tree was not that great but Landrys had some stars Reeves got to 4 Super Bowls Shanahan was Reeves OC Kubiak played under Reeves and coached under Shanahan Ditka won a Super Bowl in Chicago That's at least 8 for Jim Lee Howell. 12 if you count pre-SB Championships Edited February 27, 2020 by SkippyX
scar988
Updated coaching trees. 19 are Parcells, 24 are Walsh. TONS of overlap in there. Everyone belongs to one or the other.

SkippyX
Reich is even more convoluted because he is also on the Walsh - Seifert - Holmgren - Reid - Pederson branch I love that Reich has 2 Super Bowl rings. Someone from those Buffalo teams got to win.
megatechpc
I know he got his second in Philly a couple years ago but where did Reich get his first one?

I'm guessing he's actually including Frank's "Internship" as a Colt in 2006? Which shouldn't really count IMO.
Jakuvious
I'm probably alone in this, but I honestly never really liked the concept of going several branches out when discussing coaching trees. Like, it's neat, but kind of meaningless at a point. There's so much overlap eventually, and it isn't really saying anything about the coaches at the base of those trees once it gets so far away. Walsh doesn't actually have anything to do with McVay's success, just because he coached the coach who coached his coach. It's like going far enough back in family trees. Ultimately everyone is related at some point. I do like the first layer. So give Walsh props for Holmgren, Green, Seifer, etc. Holmgren likely helped develop Mariucci, Reid, Gruden, etc. Reid was a huge part of teaching Harbaugh, Pederson, Rivera, etc. But I do think it gets silly at a point. Otherwise they could all really be a part of Tommy Prothro's coaching tree. Or John Rauch. Because those guys were once upon a time Bill Walsh's boss. SteelKing728
Zimmer produced Shurmur and Stefanski. So that's cool I guess.
