I mean, Njoku is terrible. He’d basically be a throw in with the third rounder.

If he is "terrible" why would we want him?

This again brings the "value" conversation in play. Obviously Njoku has value to the Browns. If they believed he was "terrible" they probably wouldn't have drafted him at all.

Ya Trent really has no leverage.  He has to play this year after sitting out last year.

I agree.  Unfortunately, he seems to still be in denial.  Right now he can either accept his reality and man up (play for us with a smile or take less to leave) or he can continue being a <insert term of choice> and overshadow his skill as a player by his drama.

Ah yes, correct. That was @HTTRDynasty.

Think what you want, but just because Dunny was our best CB doesn't mean that another team with better personnel and a better organization is going to regard him as a true #1 CB.

Does he have talent? Yes. At times he plays very well. Other times, not so.

Is he always injured? Yes. Last year was his best year and he still missed 5 games.

Given the above, it's not a shocker that a malcontent with the above who is on his remaining year was shipped out of here. And not a shocker that we got a 5th rounder.

Remember, being the #1 CB on this team last year doesn't mean much. I'll give you an analogy.

He's going to Seattle to start not ride the bench. They will ethier resign him or get the same pick We could've acquired had Rivera just let him play this season out. It will be higher than a 5th round pick!

Because you aren’t getting Trent for nothing but a 3rd and Njoku is about as close to nothing as the Browns are going to get. If Njoku had value to the Browns they wouldn’t have made Hooper the highest paid TE ever to replace him. And it was a different regime that drafted him.

What? That doesn't mean Njoku is terrible, it just means they like Hooper better who may or may not be a better player, Hooper definitely doesn't have the upside that Njoku has. He was injured last year and his injury hurt Baker & the Browns offense a lot.

In 2018 Njoku was pretty good in Baker’s rookie year:

56 recs, 639 yds & 4 TDs

Hooper only had 148 more yards & just 2 more TDs last year then what Njoku had in 2018 and Hooper had better QB play.

The difference between the two isn't that great and Njoku is more athletic with more upside than Hooper.

To be determined. Dunny isn't going to start over Griffin and it's to be determined if he can beat out Flowers who has started for a few years in Seattle.

I think he will start over Flowers. I definitely think Griffin is still their #1 CB. Either way, they got a good, not great, corner that will help their defense.

Wish him well and glad we got something in return. Hopefully we turn that 5th into a HoFer.

Then why would they even offer Njoku to us? Why not a 3rd and a 5th. The fact that Njoku is mentioned at all should say he has value, to both, the Redskins and Browns.

It says the Redskins have a clear need at TE and an unwillingness to spend to fill the position. This would be the best possible outcome for the Redskins. Get a guy sort of like the players they’ve been signing, only he’s young and has some upside. Sure the Redskins could take a 3rd and a 5th but they’d be taking a chance on a player with talent who hasn’t worked out at his original destination. Teams do this a lot.
