Bradford Injury Dilemma

Run your existing offense ineffectively due to QB who is devoid of talent. Smart.

In a limited appearance scenario, the unpredictability of a change can breed short term results. Look at Tim Tebow. Would Tebowball go 12-4 every year? Absolutely not. But for a sustained stretch of games in one season, it got the Broncos to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

When's the last time a conventional backup took over in week 2 and led a team to the playoffs? Warner? Brady? I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Keenum is not in that category.  Kaep isn't either, but he'd give opposing defenses more to think about than Keenum will.

Because Kaepernick’s unpredictability won so many games.

Joe Webb was unpredictable, and all it was good for was winning one meaningless game that cost the team an opportunity to draft Andrew Luck.

Tim Tebow had the offense designed around him, he had training camp and preseason to work with his supporting cast. If you really think that bringing in a QB like Keapernick, cold, is going to net anything of substance, stick to Madden.

Keenum may not be a QB to carry the team, but he knows the offense, he knows his receivers, and they have a better chance of working together and finding some level of success than bringing in a gimmick QB.

good news on Bradford I think....

It’s good news that he should be back sooner rather than later, but it’s still concerning.

A bone bruise with what they claim was non contract, what’s the probability of it occurring again? Is this a sign that his knee will be a chronic problem?

yeah , i agree with this totally. Shaun Hill won a game for us, Matt Cassel was serviceable. Keenum is more of the same, a stop gap.

Tebow had the offense designed around him......AFTER they benched Kyle Orton halfway through the season. That was not their offense in training camp or during the games Orton started. So yeah, absolutely precedent for it, and Tebow was a far worse passer than Kaepernick. So if you think Keenum is a better option than Kaepernick, maybe try Madden?

Of course it is concerning. Usually has something to do with minimal cartilage in the knee. Probability is always great. Chance it happens to a lot of people that have had a history of knee problems.

One thing to look at tho is it hasn't happened in the past, but all it could of took is a funny twist.

I get why it would be hard to give the guy a large contract.

The biggest concern is that these things don’t get better with age. And they seem to flair up more in a person’s 30s.

Quarterback Sam Bradford was back at Winter Park on Monday, but the Vikings still don’t have a clear answer for if he will be able to practice this week or when he can return to game action, according to Zimmer.

Zimmer: “I had a nice talk with him today, just a nice, easy talk.”

Coach Mike Zimmer was asked Monday if Keenum’s performance in Sunday’s 34-17 win over Tampa Bay means the Vikings can take a more conservative approach in when Bradford will return from a knee injury.

Zimmer: “No, Once Sam is ready, he’s the quarterback. It’s really day to day, we’ll just see how the week goes and go from there.’’

Awesome, he's gong to be playing through pain the entire season. He'll still be better than Keenum, though.

This is true. Bradford screwed over his chance of a long term deal. Can't see him getting anything more than what Glennon got in terms of commitments. Glennon can basically be dumped next year.
