How much job security does Mike Tomlin have?

Recommended Posts

He has missed the playoffs twice in a row. 2018 was seen as embarrassing while last season was seen as impressive to even go 8-8, but narratives can change quickly.

If they go 8-8 again, where does that put him? If they regress to 5-11 is he safe?

What would it take for him to get fired over the next few seasons?

He is fine. If they flounder this season which I highly doubt if Ben is healthy his seat might get warm but overall I believe he is safe for the foreseeable future. Maybe he can keep robbing Gruden for more picks lol

He nearly took Pittsburgh to the playoffs with Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges at QB.

I think he’s pretty safe. Safer than McVay

The only way Mike Tomlin is being removed as the head coach of the steelers is in retirement.

This is the cold, hard truth.

Tomlin could stay there forever if he wants.  That's just how the Rooney family does things.

They honestly have some of the worst ownership in the NFL.

Nope.

That was Kevin Colbert, not Tomlin.

The seat was getting a bit warm last year, but this past year cooled it off (rightly or wrongly). He probably has to miss the playoffs two years in a row with the intended starting QB healthy before he gets fired.
