He's got his trophy wife, he goes on his African Safari trips to hunt big game, he drives his luxury cars and has his houses all over the world - why bother dealing with this nonsense, unless those checks stop coming in? Cal McNair is an absolute dunce. Yea, honestly I probably wouldn't care either if I had all that.

Hopkins was thrown out like garbage because he had power and BOB must be supreme. The guys respect Nuk and listen to him and that can not stand with this insane clown. Michael Irvin says BOB had a meeting with Hopkins about his influence in the locker room and he started it out by comparing DeAndre to AARON HERNANDEZ! Yikes, its funny cause Texans fans have all known BoB is like this, a lot of apologists like to summarize it as "ruling with an iron fist", lol. Ruling with an iron fist is keeping players in check like Ron Rivera used to do, effectively taking over a franchise, running its offense, its head coaching and its general manager duties as well as the contract negotiations is not ruling with an iron fist, it's consolidating all the positions of power into you.

ILoveTheVikings
Over the past several years these other "high profile" WRs received at least a first round pick in compensation. Hopkins somehow did not. Brandin Cooks(twice he was traded and both times got a 1st in return!) Amari Cooper Beckham Diggs Sanu was even traded for a 2nd! ILoveTheVikings
BTW ET80, don't take this as I'm crapping all over Texans fans as it is solely directly towards BOB. As a Minnesota sports fans I know all too well what it's like to have 100% inept people running a team. At some point it really just becomes comical and less soul destroying. The Hopkins trade is horrendous but at least Vikings fans can sympathize...Red McCombs traded a prime Randy Moss out of spite and then sold the team shortly thereafter.

Our GM Sashi Brown "failed" to fax it (but likely sabotaged it on purpose).

Superduperman
The Texans made the playoffs last year, correct? BoB isn't in the same continent as Millen.

Trading multiple 1sts for average players and practically giving Hopkins away. BoB is like Al Davis, except Al traded 1sts for proven superstars. Well Lurie is a good owner so he could only tolerate one year of gm chip before firing him.

Your owner wants to win. To the Bengals/Texans, it’s purely a business. Would they object to a Super Bowl win? No. But they will never take a profit loss of any kind to improve the team. Less to do with BoB, more to do with a disaster in Jacksonville and an abrupt Andrew Luck retirement. The AFCS takes turns picking top 5, two teams at a time. Just did a quick fact check on this - since 2014 (the beginning of the BoB era) at least two AFCS teams picked top 10 in every draft except 2019 (only one team picking top 10): 2014: 1.1 Houston (Clowney) 1.3 Jax (Bortles) 2015: 1.2 Tennessee (Mariota) 1.3 Jax (Fowler Jr) 2016: 1.1 Tennessee (traded to LA for Goff) 1.5 Jax (Ramsey) 2017: 1.4 Jax (Fournette) 1.5 Tennessee (Davis) 2018: Houston 1.4 (traded year before for Watson) 1.3 Indianapolis (traded to NYJ for Darnold) 2019: 1.7 Jacksonville (Allen). It's not terribly hard to win a division when two teams are already on the clock by week 10.
