MKnight82
Isn’t this guy one of the reasons the Falcons spent two first round picks to fix the online last year?

taylor made
Looks like he has experience at both left and right guard. He's more versatile than Ereck Flowers for about the same quality of play at a fraction of the cost.
A TRAIN 89
Know nothing about him. $4M for a depth OL with starting experience ain’t bad. Doesn’t move the needle at all though. Just more camp competition.

I don’t think they played at the same quality level last year

I just said he was about the same. Is Flowers really worth twice that? This guy has Super Bowl starting experience and he played mostly in a Zone blocking scheme, so it will be interesting to see what he can in a more traditional scheme. A starting LG who played quite well last year is worth twice as much as a guy the falcons kept trying to replace and then let leave.

turtle28
3 year starting LG for the Falcons. Started the super bowl. He can compete with Wes Martin, I don’t think either is a huge drop off from Flowers and they may be better - especially Wes Martin.

e16bball
He couldn’t beat out either James Carpenter or Jamon Brown for a starting spot on the Falcons — only found his way back into the starting role after Brown got hurt — but he’s our presumptive Week One starter at LG. And let’s not mistake this for something other than what it is: he’s the presumptive starter. $4.5M (the AAV on his contract) currently puts him at about #34 on the guard salary rankings. In other words, it’s a good bit more than teams are generally paying IOL backups.
