Bears sign TE Jimmy Graham, 2 years 16 million

The GM is a clown. He over pays a washed up TE from his former team instead of actually addressing the position.

I'm starting to lean more and more to believing that. Some of these moves he has made lately just don't make sense. I mean the backup TE's last year were serviceable and cheap. JG is expensive and barely an upgrade.

Correct me if I'm wrong but based on AAV alone, Graham will make only 2.5 less than Hooper.

What? Why not sign him then?

His legs are shot. This is.... God I hate that he was a former Saint more than he used to be Jimmy Graham.

Bears needed a physical player who can catch.   They got a guy who is allergic to blocking and serious decline as a pass catcher.

Fells signed for 2 years at 6 million.  2nd year isn’t even guaranteed.   Brings way better blocking and just as good in red zone.

Jimmy Graham has played a good portion of the games the past 4 years. That's why he was signed. Either way they need to start clearing some of these guys out.

Bargain bin jumping is all fine and well. They need to spend resources on the QB though. I want to see who is throwing to Jimmy next season that matters more than this move or any move this offseason.

Guaranteeing $9M to a terrible blocker and way-past-his-prime pass catcher with zero leg cartilage left is hardly "bargain bin shopping."

He can play though. That was half our problem last year at that position. Rotating guys in and out. If he's there and healthy **** it lets see what happens. Also this won't be the only move we make there. Guaranteed he's only here for a year anyway. Biggs said weeks ago they weren't going to sign Hooper.

I spent last offseason arguing with Packers fans that this guy is washed.  Now we sign him.  LOL.

Lol, no, it's not that bad. It's not even close to the same contract Hooper got.

This is probably the same type of deal that Jared Cook got last year.

2 yr $15M/ $6M SB, and $8M in guarantees.

Jared Cook can still play.
