Tugboat Posted March 18, 2020 Share Posted March 18, 2020 It makes sense i guess. I vaguely recall Gruden and Mayock both being very high on Mariota in the draft process. They like the guy. And it's exactly the sort of player you bring in if you want to light a fire under Derek Carr. Also convenient that you can run pretty much the same offense with both...to play to their strengths.
