VikeManDan
No trades using TDN... 4 DL, 3 CBs, 3 OL, 2 WR 22. Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU - hopefully slots in as CB1 or CB2. 25. Yetur Gross-Matos, DE, PSU - at worst he's a 3rd down rush specialist his rookie year and Odenigbo starts. 58. Raekwon Davis, 3T/NT, Alabama - If he can learn to rush the passer watch out. Doubt many teams could run on us with Davis and Pierce in the middle. 89. Van Jefferson, WR, Florida - Think he'd be a great #2. 105. Tyler Biadasz, OG, Wisconsin - Elflien competition/replacement. 132. Kenny Willekes, DE, Michigan State - Another developmental/EDGE replacement for Weatherly. 155. Michael Onwenu, OG, Michigan - Interior OL depth/insurance. 201. Nevelle Clark, CB, UCF - CB depth/Special teams/Zimmer project. 205. Isaiah Coulter, WR, Rhode Island - WR depth/ Special teams. 219. James Lynch, DL, Baylor - DL depth could be a steal here per @Ozzy 249. Alex Taylor, LT, South Carolina State - Redshirt year and hopeful Reiff replacement in 2021. 253. Jaron Bryant, CB, Fresno State - CB depth/Special teams/Zimmer project. #BuildTheTrenches

Uncle Buck
I went with Diggs at #25 on this one. I'm not sure we would take him even without the whole Stefon situation because there are questions about his desire to tackle. I like the rest of the picks though, because it seemed to solidify the trenches pretty well. I don't know if this is realistic, but I wouldn't mind if it went this way for us. One mistake I made was missing the fact that Henry Ruggs III fell all the way down to the Eagles at pick #21. If I had seen that, I would have tried to trade above them to grab him. Round 1 Pick 22: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn (A+) Round 1 Pick 25: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama (A-) Round 2 Pick 26: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor (A+) Round 3 Pick 25: Robert Hunt, OT, Louisiana (A+) Round 3 Pick 31 (DEN): Raekwon Davis, DT/DE, Alabama (A+) Round 6 Pick 26: Darrynton Evans, RB, App. St. (A+) Round 6 Pick 28: Josh Metellus, FS/SS, Michigan (A+) Round 7 Pick 35 (COMP): Carter Coughlin, OLB, Minnesota (A+) Round 7 Pick 39 (COMP): Nate Stanley, QB, Iowa (A+)
Taylor0026
Derrick Brown won't fall out of the top10- 14. He is considered the best DT in the class. DT Kinlaw won't make it to pick 22 either.

Then you have to say the same thing about WR. 2 1000 yard WR’s 2 years ago. One drafted in round 5 and the other undrafted . You can actually say that about any position. Teams do it all the time. You just have to hit on those guys. YGM is a beast and I would probably take him in a heart beat as well at 22. All I’m hoping for in this draft is that we land 4 starters.. With 12 picks, I really hope we trade up in rounds 2 thru 4 to hit players they really like.

vikingsrule
I’m still surprised by the lack of DE early. This team doesn’t really have the benefit of waiting for another mid round player to develop given the losses at DE. Zimmer’s defense doesn’t work without front four pressure. I like the mocks with Yetur Gross-Matos in round one.

Then it's going to come down to either one OL or one DL with the other 1st. I think the OL pick (assuming good value there) is better for this Cousins-led offense. I also think the drop off from #25 to #58 in terms of quality available OL drops off faster, as teams that just took QBs in round 1 + TB (Brady) will be looking to add the OL to protect the investment. Outside of Hunter, what is the track record of drafting a DE that contributes immediately? There isn’t any. The Vikes have had success drafting and developing boom or bust types later in the draft by sitting them behind established vets. If a rookie DE has to take Griffen’s or Odinigbo’s reps, we may be in trouble if that player doesn’t have enough experience to take the job immediately. Id go DE and CB in round one. I don’t think there is an interior OL worth drafting in round one, I don’t think we move Reiff to Guard and I don’t think we can afford to draft a player in round one who doesn’t play, so that excludes Tackle for me on the premise that Reiff isn’t going anywhere. RpMc
There’s no rush to draft an immediate impact edge player. Hunter/Odenigbo is likely your starting duo - heck, Everson is still sitting out there too. I would not hate getting a guy like YGM but it goes against what this team has routinely done. The only first round pick Rick has spent on a DE goes all the way back to Jared Allen

Well I fully think certain OT can play OG for a year, until RR is gone next season. I agree with you, i don't think we can afford to draft a platter in round one who doesn't play (start), which is why I'm not fully advocating for DE (as best scenario), as they may be\would be DE3 at least for this season.
