beardown3231
He makes a ton of sense in New England.

That was the selling job Pace did after he drafted him. Floyd was not even a good pass rusher in college. He simply lacks the power to be a good edge rusher. As an OLB who plays the run well and can offer some help in coverage and add some pressure he's starting caliber but not for $13 mil a year. Maybe half that. In college he had al the makings of an elite edge outside if power, but Georgia had injuries at ILB so they kicked him inside. He actually developed a pretty well rounded game but pass rushing is the weakest part of his game. He can play off-ball in pretty much any scheme and do well enough. TankWilliams
Well, the first pick Pace made that I absolutely despised. He actually turned out better than I expected, but he really doesn't fit as a pure pass rushing guy. Good luck to him, hopefully he goes to a team with a decent scheme fit that can use a tall, rangy linebacker. Nads786
The scary thing is, we're loading our team with FAs and this would be the third first rounder that was not worth his selection. White, Floyd, and Mitch. Shades of Jerry Angelo.

soulman
Floyd was always doubtful as an edge rusher. His only real successes came against GB and that isn't enough to pay a guy $13 mil. I'm just glad we were able to replace him with a guy who better suits our needs.

Vasher had a couple of good years and then was nothing. Graham was a special teams star and an ok nickle. Harris was great for a couple of years but he was an injury waiting to happen. Manning was good but never special. Anderson was great as a third down specialist for a year then nothing until to the Pats then he was ok. After Forte in 2008 we had three years of hot garbage. Now you did forget Earl Bennett on the plus side. btw how did you like Michael Haynes, Rex Grossman, Mark Bradley, Dan Bazuin, Garrett Wolfe, Michael Okwo, Chris Williams, Jaron Gilbert, Jauquin Iglesias, and Major Wright? I could have found more but I was trying to limit myself to the first 3 rounds.

Usually, 25% of first rounders pan out as expected. From round 2 on, it's 15% and dipping. You were going to limit yourself to the first 3 rounds? Wow you're so brave, because had you pointed out his misses in round 7, the argument would've been lopsided! Please. The fact that he found contributing players in round 3-7 like he did- Vasher, Graham, Anderson, Brown- says something. Who cares how good Graham was? He was a special teams star that was taken very late. Tommie Harris was a dominant force and then ripped a ligament off of a bone. Yeah, stupid Angelo! I didn't forget about them. All GM's have misses. Look at NE's last few drafts. They suck. If you can get 2 good players, it's a good draft. If you can get 3, you're a great drafter. He wasn't a good GM and neither is Pace, but let's not act like he was horse**** while Pace is a genius. They just both suck much less than Emery. Bfan
Can't argue with the Emery comment at all. Never said Pace was a genius and I got the impression you thought that Angelo was something special. Apparently I was mistaken. I do think Pace has hope but I would agree he is still working on good.
